Be careful fellow Dems
I realize we all have and had our personal favorite candidates running for the Democrat nomination.

But there is something really wrong with the way Democrats have been treating Hilary Clinton. First the mainstream media has been bashing her to no end and because we like a different candidate we have been allowing them to get away with it. Then we turn around with almost hate talk about her ourselves.

We are playing right into the hands of the biased media and Repupublicans.

Hilary has done a lot for our party and the progressive movement and no matter if we like it or not she probably will win the nomination.

I just hope we don't do so much damage that she wont win in Nov. if she does win the nomination.

Its one thing to argue about people in our own Dem family but to allow the mainstream media to get away with their negative talk on Hilary is wrong. We need to defend her and call the media out.

Just so you know if I could pick the next President I would pick Edwards but this negative talk about Hilary really bugs me.

I just think we need to be careful about the stuff we say because we might not win back the White house if we cause too much damage in our on party...which is what the Republicans are hoping for.

2. Please clearly explain "Hilary has done a lot for our party"
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 10:36 AM by Big Blue Marble
Please list what exactly she had done for the Democratic Party.

And in your opinion, does that mean we "owe" her the nomination whether
she wins or loses or drags other candidates down with her.

4. Thank you, I would like to know, too.
The only thing I seem to remember is her back-stabbing one of the party's best campaigners in 2006 and helping push him off the campaign trail. Beside being personally repugnant it was in no way helpful to the Democratic Party - it was harmful.

**Please list what exactly she had done for the Democratic Party. **

If you cant take a small look back in her history and see some of the things she fought for...your just blowing smoke.

By the way can you name one thing Barack has done?

I never said she should win or is owed the nomination. I dont believe that in any way. I happen to like all the people running and I dont bad mouth any of them. I think its very hard to pick a person because they are all good. I actually like Edward a lot but I also know he has little chance. But I wont run around bath mouth another person.

If you step back and look at the big picture Hilary is going to win. Its just the way its going to work out. It does no good bashing her or letting the media get away with bashing her because come Nov. we will regret it.

Im really hoping that if she does win that she picks Barack as VP.

7. Strange way to answer my question.

And you accuse me of blowing smoke! You made a declarative statement.
I asked you to back it up with facts.

Both Hillary and Obama are very accomplished people in their own right.
Are you serious when you ask me to name one thing Obama has done?
Becoming a US Senator doesn't come to mind?

Seriously what has Hillary done for the Democratic Party?

6. I agree.
You are exactly right. I was stunned when I first started hearing the absolute hate about her. I honestly think people were brainwashed in the 90's from the media. I also think part of the problem is sexism. And, of course the media is still attacking her relentlessly.

As you said, no one is perfect. Every one of the candidates has flaws. Yet Obama is forgiven for his (or they are overlooked, dismissed, minimize). Clinton is hated for her imperfections.

9. Heh.. Brainwashed.. "hillary is a progressive" "hillary is not a corporatist"
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 11:28 AM by rAVES
the facts dont match up... at all, yet people will still say these things.. that m'love, is brainwashed.

I think I'll go on...

Hillarys vote for the IWR was not her endorsement of invasion.. it wasnt clear at all what GWB's intentions where.. no, just us poor saps knew it was a push for war, but not the mighty Clinton, oh no, she fell for it lock stock and barrel.. she was fooled
Her further votes to fund the war made that clear didnt it?

10. you can continue to spew that lie as if fact, or you can look at the context and
surrounding circumstances.

8. we should be able to question her credentials, but should do it in a civil manner
I have lots of complaints about her, but if and when it comes to it I'll take her over the Repub nominee.

But let's face it, there's lots of things to...'be concerned about' with her. And they can't be ignored.

Just don't do it in a nasty way...that's just helping the enemy. My 2 cents

13. hmmm.
well I've got my complaints about him too...but I think I'll stand back and let his supporters answer that one.

again: with Obama, I'll vote for him if he's the candidate, but right at this moment he's my 2nd choice.

14. Even if Hillary goes through, progressives have their fight cut out for them.
I think it's fair to make sure what she stands for doesn't get distorted in the limelight of the primaries, so if she does become president, we can at least be knowledgeable about where we're going to get screwed, and how much of our money we have to save to fight our own battles, since no one is going to be there to help us fight them with us.
