There is a suspicious video of Mitt Romney's son advertising his father in Spanish.

Let's leave out the fact that Romney is a hypocrite who tells everyone to speak English or else.

Let's focus on the voice in this video.
I lived 18 years in a Spanish-speaking country, and I can easily tell a Latino from an American person.
"Yo soy su hijo"=I am his son...says the voice in this new Romney video.

...but this person speaks VERY GOOD Spanish, likely from a second generation Latino that spoke both English and Spanish in his house.
Unless Romney's wife is Latina, or their Hispanic nanny spent a long, long time with Romney Jr., this is not him.

The accent sounds Chilean, or possibly from another nearby South American country.

Other Spanish-speaking DU'ers give me your linguistic opinion on this one.

1. He's a Mormon
Most men - and I believe women now but I could be wrong - in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints go on missions for two years often in foreign countries. I've read that because of that many Mormons are fluent in several languages.

Maybe Mitt's son did his missionary work in a Spanish-speaking country.

2. Actually Mitt's dad George was born in Mexico and Mormons travel a lot.
I should know - my grandmother was a Mormon.

It's possible a fake voice was used, but just as likely - if not more so - that Romney Jr. went to Chile or someplace on mission and picked up the language.
