"Who will be tough enough and strong enough and who can compete against John McCain...
IN EVERY PLACE IN AMERICA!"

Edwards said it's being coming "increasingly likely" that the GOP presidential nominee will be Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

"Here's what we have to be thinking about....

Who will be tough enough and strong enough and who can compete against John McCain in every place in America?" Edwards said.

"I think I can go everywhere and compete head-to-head with McCain." ...REALISTICALLY John Edwards' statement is undeniably correct....

Edwards Clearly stood out as the candidate most in charge of himself on the national stage, while the other two reduced themselves to personal "squabbling" among themselves.

******************************************************************************************************************************************************

*Can Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton campaign in places like Sumter County Florida, Florence Kentucky, rural Mississippi, Missouri or even Ohio for that matter?

*Is being defensive like Barack Obama was this evening throughout most of the debate viable against a John McCain?

*Which candidate is interested in solving problems for the average American and can be depended upon to FOLLOW THROUGH with their campaign promises once elected?

*Which candidate has the proven skill set to and the unimpeachable background to take on the powers that be that must be confronted in order for average

citizenry to secure SUBSTANTIVE CHANGE through their vote.

John Edwards is the ONLY candidate to which a winning answer for all of these questions can "Honestly" be attributed... :)

2. The CNN Set Was Designed to Visually Exclude Edwards Presence Fo the Most Part
Tight Shot which dominated of Hillary and Barack as well as side views excluded Edwards... Anyone who does not "get this" is in denial or DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT! Watch for the trimming of Edwards soundtrack as these clips are played throughout the week......... :puke:

3. The polls show both Edwards and Obama beating the repubs and McCain
Hillary is the candidate who the polls say will lose against McCain.

17. My money is on Edwards beating McCain.
Edwards is quicker and sharper.

Obama and Hillary are busy bickering each other to death. They have nothing left to bring to the table.

4. I dunno. Obama won Iowa, and that's awfully white and rural.
And he won the rural parts of Nevada. So I think he's got as good a shot at it as Edwards.

14. Bush barely beat Kerry in Iowa in 2004: 49.9% to 49.2%
Iowa went to the Democrat in the four previous elections: Gore, Clinton twice, and Dukakis.

11. Yes Campaign Finance Will Be Huge As John Edwards So Clearly and Succinctly Pointed Out....
And Someone Like Hillary or Even Obama for that matter who both have taken SUBSTANTIAL $MONEY$ from source ripe for criticism on this topic would be completely

hypocritical and hamstrung in attempting to compete on this issue... John Edwards Offers us Democrats the only competitive opportunity to take on a McCain effectively and prevail. :)

8. If Obama can't beat McCain it would only be because of race
I understand, we must pick the candidate that can win; and if Edwards can win and the other two can not then i'm with Edwards; vis versa with the other two.

12. Is Edwards injecting race into this campaign?
What does he mean exactly when he says he can compete everywhere in America? Considering he keeps losing in the primaries there isn't much factual basis to back that up, so what's his argument based on? The fact that he's a white male?

25. Truth?
The idea that only a white man can become President is not a truth I believe in and I'm not basing my primary vote on that kind of defeatist negative attitude about the country.

26. Copied From JSamuel Post MLK III Letter Supporting John Edwards Position on Poverty +Economic Justic
January 20, 2008

The Honorable John R. Edwards
410 Market Street
Suite 400
Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Dear Senator Edwards:

It was good meeting with you yesterday and discussing my father's legacy. On the day when the nation will honor my father, I wanted to follow up with a personal note.

There has been, and will continue to be, a lot of back and forth in the political arena over my father's legacy. It is a commentary on the breadth and depth of his impact that so many people want to claim his legacy. I am concerned that we do not blur the lines and obscure the truth about what he stood for: speaking up for justice for those who have no voice.

I appreciate that on the major issues of health care, the environment, and the economy, you have framed the issues for what they are - a struggle for justice. And, you have almost single-handedly made poverty an issue in this election.

You know as well as anyone that the 37 million people living in poverty have no voice in our system. They don't have lobbyists in Washington and they don't get to go to lunch with members of Congress. Speaking up for them is not politically convenient. But, it is the right thing to do.

I am disturbed by how little attention the topic of economic justice has received during this campaign. I want to challenge all candidates to follow your lead, and speak up loudly and forcefully on the issue of economic justice in America.

From our conversation yesterday, I know this is personal for you. I know you know what it means to come from nothing. I know you know what it means to get the opportunities you need to build a better life. And, I know you know that injustice is alive and well in America, because millions of people will never get the same opportunities you had.

I believe that now, more than ever, we need a leader who wakes up every morning with the knowledge of that injustice in the forefront of their minds, and who knows that when we commit ourselves to a cause as a nation, we can make major strides in our own lifetimes. My father was not driven by an illusory vision of a perfect society. He was driven by the certain knowledge that when people of good faith and strong principles commit to making things better, we can change hearts, we can change minds, and we can change lives.

So, I urge you: keep going. Ignore the pundits, who think this is a horserace, not a fight for justice. My dad was a fighter. As a friend and a believer in my father's words that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, I say to you: keep going. Keep fighting. My father would be proud.

Sincerely,

Martin L. King, III :)

if he manages 15% in SC he'll have done well.

They've been far more brutal. Do you know how many potential voters watch this stuff? Not enough. JE is doneCheck out the new polling, kittums. He's polling about 10% in CA and NY. Your optimism is cute- and completely misplaced.
