Clinton lies again about Obama i.e. Reagan, Obama notes she was a corporate lawyer at Walmat
CLINTON: You talked about admiring Ronald Reagan and you talked about the ideas...

OBAMA: Hillary, I'm sorry. You just...

BLITZER: Senator...

CLINTON: I didn't talk about Reagan. (please refer to her statement 3 lines up)

OBAMA: Hillary, we just had the tape. You just said that I complimented the Republican ideas. That is not true.

What I said -- and I will provide you with a quote -- what I said was is that Ronald Reagan was a transformative political figure because he was able to get Democrats to vote against their economic interests to form a majority to push through their agenda, an agenda that I objected to. Because while I was working on those streets watching those folks see their jobs shift overseas, you were a corporate lawyer sitting on the board at Wal-Mart.

(APPLAUSE)

OBAMA: I was fighting these fights. I was fighting these fights. So -- but I want to be clear.

So I want to be clear. What I said had nothing to do with their policies. I spent a lifetime fighting a lifetime against Ronald Reagan's policies. But what I did say is that we have to be thinking in the same transformative way about our Democratic agenda.

We've got to appeal to Independents and Republicans in order to build a working majority to move an agenda forward. That is what I said.

(APPLAUSE)

11. No. Read the transcript. She said "republican" she did not say Reagan
She was very specific as she was quoting Obama's statement to the conservative editor.

See, Obama wanted the endorsement, so he sucked up to the conservative editor talking about Reagan as well as the republicans as making all these awesome changes...so he would get the endorsement for that newspaper. It worked.

But, it also shows that he will say and do anything to get elected. I thought you turned away from Clinton for that very reason?

33. re-read it
Here's the FULL passage--and try searching the CNN page to see who FIRST brought up Reagan. It was Obama, not Clinton.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/21/debate.transcript/index.html

OBAMA: Let's talk about it. Hillary, I will be happy to provide you with the information about all -- all the spending that we do. Now, let's talk about Ronald Reagan. What you just repeated here today is...

CLINTON: Barack...

OBAMA: Wait. No. Hillary, you just spoke.

CLINTON: I did not say anything about Ronald Reagan.

OBAMA: You just spoke for two minutes.

CLINTON: You said two things.

OBAMA: You just...

CLINTON: You talked about admiring Ronald Reagan and you talked about the ideas...

OBAMA: Hillary, I'm sorry. You just...

BLITZER: Senator...

CLINTON: I didn't talk about Reagan.

4. What about (among other things)
when she said that she did not talk about Reagan less than a minute after she mentioned his name?

20. Well... you are right
in a sense. I checked the CNN transcript, and indeed Reagan's name was first uttered by Obama. What she said (not quoted in the OP) is

The facts are that he has said in the last week that he really liked the ideas of the Republicans over the last 10 to 15 years, and we can give you the exact quote.

Now, I personally think they had ideas, but they were bad ideas. They were bad ideas for America.

Two comments:
1. the fact that she quibbles and insists about not having used Reagan's name, while factually true, is silly, meaningless, and petty
2. the fact that she claims AGAIN that Obama said that he liked the republican ideas is just LYING

it to her attacking Reagan. He blew it.

25. Ok...sequence of events: Obama praised republicans as well as Reagan
Clinton, at the debate talked about his praise of Republicans. Obama said, how dare you suggest that I love Reagan--you love Reagan too. She said, no, I did not say you love Reagan, I said Republicans. He said no, look at the tape, you said I love Reagan.

But, she did not say what he said she said, and indeed he DID say what she said he said.

26. in truth, it's not
but if Obama is replying to Hillary that she said "Reagan" when, per the transcript, she was speaking about what he said about "Republican ideas", it's important that people are aware of the distinction. Some might say it was Obama twisting her words at the debate last night to avoid this issue; others might disagree.

From your very own link Obama was first to bring up Reagan not Hillary

BLITZER: But go ahead and respond, and then I want to get back to this issue that we're talking about, fiscal responsibility. But go ahead.

OBAMA: Let's talk about it.

10. Well hell Obama why did you not say all that during your
interview. When you brought up reagan it was a slap at president clinton. but this has proven to have been a bad move on your part. All this stuff you said last evening just where in that interview with the reno paer are those comments. It is not there and again you get your ass handed to you by someone that calls you on it and as hrc last last night, you are hard to pin down, cause you change what you say from day to day (paraphrase)

As I wrote yesterday, Bill has got inside the mind of obama and it showed last night. You could see it in his facial expressions and damn there one time I thought he believed Bill was coming onto the stage....This was HRC's plan all along as the debate was not meant so much for the sc people but those people in 2/5 states and obama better relish this win and illinois cause those are the only 2 states in the next couple of weeks he will win. then again it might be 2 more smaller states like ala. and ga.

15. wasn't she a "corporate lawyer" at the time when Sam was running it
and not his kids, who want to take over the world? And she had to give that up when Bill went on the campaign trail?

Of course, Sam died in 1992, so you can't ask him ... but in his books, he had praise for Hillary ...

And, of course, back then, Wal-Mart was on this "Made in America" kick ... now it's a much harder finding American-manufactured products at Wal-Mart, but that could be attributed to his trust-fund kids who took over when he passed away ...
