Boos last night didn't convey that Hillary was bad, but that Obama's supporters are unruly
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 09:05 AM by robbedvoter
A lot of enthusiasm was expressed last night for said boos - and one would think this would go well on DU.
Similar behavior went well on the Free Republic - where the firefighters who did that after she fought hard to make W caygh the money for NYC - were celebrated.
The public at large, takes a different view - as I recall of the reactions to Dean's supporters antics in 2004 (Fla convention, Iowa and elsewhere).
Being that obnoxious may make you feel good on the moment, if you are enthusiastic for that candidate, but uncommitted people may have the emotional reaction that sends them to the other side. It's been known to happen.

1.  I would have booed with some of her comments
Her smirk annoyed me at times and I am an Edwards supporter who isn't sure who to vote for if he drops out.

3. Doesn't disprove my point one bit. On the contrary. DU is not the voting population
as results of many races indicate.

5. Or even in SC - that's why I mentioned Dean in Iowa.
There were fists in the air and T-shirts in Nevada this time too, just as there were yellow hats and headlights in Iowa 2004. Votes - not so much.

6. You seem to forget Nevada, where boos were the order of the day
On the roles were reveresed.

7. They only booed her a couple of times, unlike the Nevada debate a couple of months ago.
Obama and Edwards were booed every time they criticized Hillary in that debate.

It happens on both sides.

8. I don't like the booing against any of our candidates
I don't like it from Clinton supporters and I don't like it from Obama supporters. I don't like it from anyone.

10. I didn't hear widespread boos.
There were a couple gasps, but that's about it.

11. What it portrays is that the Clintons have created a rift in the
black vote that the Republicans will be able to dry a truck through. If Clinton is the nominee, I'd bet money on the Republicans increasing their percentage of the black vote.

14. I didn't even pay attention to it since it was definitely an Obama audience.
I find it very disturbing how this election is aligning people by race. Blacks and men for Obama; whites, women and latinos for Hillary.

I personally think that Obama is not ready to be president and I would say the same thing if he were white, hispanic or purple with pink spots. I'm shocked to see how many people are now saying in interviews that they will vote for him just because he's black. It's just as bad as saying that they will vote for Hillary just because she's a woman.

:(
