Poll question: Would You Rather Your Candidate Lose The GE, Or The Candidate You Hate The Most Win The GE?
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 11:29 AM by Magic Rat
In other words, would you feel better knowing that your candidate, whoever it is, got the nomination, but lost the General Election, or would you feel better knowing that the candidate you hate the most, whoever that is, got the nomination and won the presidency?

Be honest. It's an anonymous poll.

on edit - AMONG DEMOCRATS ONLY. Your favorite democratic candidate and least favorite democratic candidate.

4. Hmm... irrelevant poll since I don't hate any of our candidates.
But, obviously, I want the Dem. to win, regardless of whether it's the Dem. I intend to vote for in the meaningless Florida primary.

5. I'm a bit confused here - what is the difference?
I don't have a candidate, not being American; but the candidates I hate the most are Republican (specially Giuliani, Fuckabee and Ron Paul - well, actually all of them!), and I wouldn't want any of them to win the general election. Hope they don't!

8. I think they mean "hate the most" out of the DEMOCRATS.
That's the only way it makes any sense.

9. I mean out of the candidates on our side
In other words, If I, say, as an Obama supporter who didn't like Clinton very much - would I rather lose the general election with Obama, or win it with Clinton.

and vice versa.

That's what I'm asking.

6. I'm confused.
Those are my only choices? The person I like best losing, or the person I like least winning?

Sounds like a lose/lose to me. I guess the second option, since it would put a Democrat into the White House no matter what.

I don't really hate any of them either, I thought it meant least favorite.

I'll be happy whichever one is figuring out where all the light switches are in the White House one year from now.

14. I think the use of the word "hate" is confusing -- "least favorite Dem" would be better
And for the latter, for me that would be Hillary Clinton, especially since she and her campaign DID IN FACT stoop to race-baiting. I never held Bill Clinton in high character OR progressive esteem since he made clear that he was betraying progressives on a host of issues in 1993, but that was a new low for them.

NO, I am not one of those who were SHOCKED to see that Bill Clinton had what most of us consider sex (the two parties to the lawsuit had some oddball stipulated definition) with Monica Lewinsky. On the other hand, his manipulation of the issue was vintage Bill the Shill. I give him credit for balancing the budget and presiding over an economy sustaining boom growth. From NAFTA to the environment and an host of human rights issues among others, he was a disappointment even from what I'd expected as of Nov 92.
