Poll question: Did you enjoy the Clinton-Obama brawl last night?
Be honest- did you like it or not?

1. Honestly? No. Either way, it didn't help our GE cause.
If the nominee is Clinton, well, she reinforced her "evil do-anything-to-win" negative image.
If the nominee is Obama, well, he damaged his "transcendent" image.
And either way, it was the final nail in the joint-ticket coffin.

6. I see it differently.
Yes, it is jostling, yes you will hear every accusation in the general election. Better to learn at the golden gloves level than to go pro as your first fight.

So transcendent against Rove tactics? Not so much.

".........."evil do-anything-to-win" negative image."

You know what I came away with from last nights debate?

The Clintons (both) seem to be suffering from the delusion that tearing up the Party to win the nomination by lying and using dirty tricks is justified as a prelude to running against the Republicans in November.

4. It was Obama delivering a long overdue smackdown.
If the Clintons insist on going there, Obama is letting them know there will be resistance to their negative campaigning.

5. I liked it but I don't like how it's being portrayed in the MSM...
The way I saw it, Obama HAD to correct the record of the lies of BOTH Clintons, while Hillary just made more angry, false claims which again Obama had to respond to. I didn't see it as both of them getting in the mud-just Obama trying to get the truth out and Hillary slinging mud along with low blows.

7. What I hate is the Clintons' "win at all costs" campaign where the truth matters not a whit.
If Hillary 'It's her turn' Clinton wins the nomination in this way, it won't be worth much. We will lose, and lose big in November. Yet the Clintons are apparently "in it to win it" at all costs. Not good for the party or the country.

The Clintons cannot create a working majority for change in this country like the transformational candidacy of Barack Obama which holds the promise of just such a working majority.

12. I thought it was great -- and staged
It let them get all of the crap out that has been blast throughout the media. That needed to happen.

However -- it was preplanned, IMO. CNN set it up for a cage match and then took a break, pulled out the coffee table and it went from "SENATOR X" said/did back to "Barack, Hillary and John" as they all posed for a unity group hug.

14. The crap is out there and to ignore it would make them both look
like they're ok with it. Obviously not...just look on here at the debates that are gouging out eyes. We saw Kerry try to turn the other cheek and it didn't work. I'd rather see some reality and some passion from the candidates...they'll be fighting for us down the line.

15. I liked it at the time, a 'clear the air' opportunity, but
I see this morning it was just a springboard for more of the same from billary.

16. I hated it because I despise incompetent handicapping
And Hillary was world class incompetent last night. She has a winning lead toward the nomination. A foundational advantage among women and Hispanics and that will be plenty to hold off Obama. There was absolutely no reason to snipe at Obama and jeopardize her standing, and reinforce the long held impressions of her. Every short TV clip of that debate is going to portray Hillary unfavorably.

I can understand Bill. He's like an anxious parent at a little league game, hyper about protecting and defending and boosting someone from his own family. If Bill were the candidate himself he'd be much more relaxed, and taking things from Obama in stride.

Hillary should understand the big picture, and no need to "win" every exchange. Democrats in some cases have over learned the Swift Boat lesson from '04. If it's a meaningless childish taunt, or squirming, it comes across that way. Don't feel a ridiculous desire to retaliate with something equally pathetic.

19. I didn't "enjoy" it but Obama had to lay some canards to rest (Reagan etc);
Apparently there is more to Revko than just the issue of Obama's representation (which he handled well), but eventually Obama will need to address that in a similarly open way too.
