Here is the thing about the IWR and subsequent votes for spending

It is an academic dicussion on whether Obama would have voted for IWR...He certainly was prescient when it came to his prediction.

Both Obama and Hlllary voted for the the Funding year after year. And while some of you may disgree with that Hillary supporters can't have that both ways.

The thing of it is....Like it or not he is probably where most americans are on the war.


Most think it was stupid to ginto this quagmire and are likely impressed with Obama;s early view that it was going to be a quagmire. At the same time... Most American proably also feel that however stupid the war was.. You have to fund them whil they are there if you do not have the votes to force the President to get out.

My fear however. is that unless McCain is the nominee...it is not going to be much of a campaign issue...

if I were stuck in Iraq I'd apprecate the money while at the same time waiting for Congress and president to arrange a way for me to get home.
