What did Obama mean by calling Clinton "The Senator from Punjob"?

What is "punjob"? Is that an ethnic slur of some kind?

The insult is meant to criticize HRC regarding outsourcing of jobs to India.

Referring to the BIG BIG BIG bucks that Clinton takes from the outsourcing industry in India. Much like Bill Clinton's BIG BIG BIG money from Asian lobbyists in the 90's.

PS - Its Punjab.

It's a region in India. The implication was that she was serving the interests of foreign corporations, specifically Indian ones.

can't figure out why Punjab is a bad word or how it's racist...

fact is Clinton was a better Senator in representing parts of India - cheaper labour and protecting her big pocket friends than she was interested in protecting american workers.

Even though she used it first, Obama's people crossed the line, in my view.
