A real possibility
This thought keeps coming to my head as we go forward in this close race.

What happens if we go to convention with say Obama up by 30 delegates over hillary and the supper delegates hold their ground and give the nod to Hillary.

What will that do to our party.

Or say it goes the other way and hillary holds a small lead and somehow the supper delegates swing it to Obama?

This has a real chance of happening as it stands now. I know I will be pissed off if this happens. I do think its a real possibility though.

Your thoughts on this? Can we survive it if it happens or will the party fracture because of it?

1. I am not a fan of the super delegates regardless of how they vote

2. If the super delegates swing their votes either way
to Obama or Clinton, I'll be pissed. It's not how Democracy is supposed to work.

As to what will happen to the party if that happens, I don't know. But I doubt it will be good.

3. I would hope that they just fall in behind the leader of the delegate count
But its possible that they wont. We have a real possibility here I think of wresting defeat from the jaws of victory here.

4. doesnt this make Edwards a King Maker?
if the margin between Hillary and Obama is within the number that Edwards has, where will they go? I'd like to hear how he might do this if he should happen to lose.

5. I think it does if he gains enough delegates to make the difference.
But then again how does that sit with the party as a whole?

I think thats exactly what Edwards is holding on for. He clearly will not win this thing and he knows it. Holding out though gives him power in the end. I cant even begin to guess what will be promised to him by the time this is all over with but if it comes down to his delegates making the decision, I am not sure that will go over any better than the super delegates or worse if it goes against the candidate with a slim lead.

Its going to be interesting as hell to watch if it comes to that point.
