No matter what happens to Obama, he has already won.
No matter what happens to Obama, he has already won. He may not win another state, but he has already won what matters. He has changed the election and the country already. He has shown that there are millions of untapped voters that just need encouragement to vote. He has shown that inspirational leadership is still desired in this country. He has trained thousands of new organizers. He has lead to the registration of thousands of new Democrats. He has at minimum slowed the coronation of Hillary.

Hillary was supposed to win this election 50-0. That's not going to happen. Even if he doesn't win another election, has already won.

2. So you are saying that winning the battle but...
losing the war is a good thing?

16. Maybe, when the war gets you what you want.
And the other candidates are campaigning on Obama's terms.

3. Obama has changed nothing so far. How many states have voted?
What is it with the magical thinking here? Changed exactly what? Dean changed things in the ways you listed and where is he?

9. Dean?
Why he is the leader of the DNC, exactly where we need him. He's why we won in '06.

Best I recall though, Dean won absolutely no state primaries or caucuses.

17. B.S...
Dean's 50 state strategy is what won us that, not Rahm's focusing attention on key districts. We wouldn't have won near the seats doing it his way. Some of the victories came in areas that had trended strongly Republican in recent years, areas Rahm wanted to ignore, but Dean knew better.

4. Obama drew from every demographic today based on the final tally
it bodes well for february fifth and the general.

His support is not split among racial lines. He draws from everyone, every party and independants.

He has proven himself to be a uniter and that is what we need right now.

15. Well...er....Obama did not win in the over 65 female voting block....same in Iowa
Hillary has a lock on these voters.

In SC and Iowa, Obama won every other demographic.

This is a good thing for Obama because if SC was just viewed as voting for him due to the AA vote, it would be less resounding a victory. As it turned out, Obama was greatly helped by the broadness of his victory. This is something he can campaign on building a coalition of Democrats.

7. There never was a coronation. A MSM talking point?
Obama did not stop a coronation, he waged a pretty good campaign so far. Future voters are always there. We'll see if the new sign ups actually show up, and if they lose will they walk away whining and crying as most have before them

13. if you bought into this HRC was supposed to win 50 states
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 11:43 PM by BenDavid
then you have been sold a bill of goods the HRC people never said and this inevitibility was a creation by the mediawhores as the hrc campaign never said that either......

I will give you your just due when you said if obama does not win another state he has already won. I agree....but the difference in this election I see is we the usa is in serious damn trouble, and we do not need another bush in the white house that can give a damn good speech.

We got to have serious people making pretty damn serious decisions on how the u s is going to get out of this morass and it will not be by someone that gives a damn good speech and wants to play patty cake with the damn republicans....Leadership begins when you take a country on a path that all will feel is the right course of action to take in the legislation presented and passed by the congress.and explaining to the people as HRC said tonight, I will take us in a new direction but I will be asking you the american people to get involved too......

Bill Clinton had that type support in 99 and 2000 as he had approval ratings of 70 to 73% and the american people knew he had the best interest of the u s in his heart....HRC will provide that same leadership and as she said take over this country and begin making changes on day one and un like obama who i think would call the republicans and teh dems to meet in the back yard of teh white house and have a fish fry and sing the camp fire song from spongebob squarepants....
