Obama heading to Alabama and Georgia next
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 12:18 AM by Herman Munster
Makes sense. Other than Illinois, these are probably the only places Obama will win on Super Tuesday.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/Story?id=4195240&page=4

Arguing a "new wind" is at his back, Obama heads to Georgia and Alabama, states his campaign believes he can win, reports ABC News' Sunlen Miller.

7. Only 24% of WHITE DEMOCRATS supported him
Imagine if he had to run against a republican. He'd be blown out of the water. Get real.

18. 76% supported them.
And you are totally deluded if you believe any GOPers are in his camp. Please, they are plotting as we speak about how to most effectively roast him alive. All his rightwing media supporters will throw him under the bus within 5 seconds of him getting the nomination.

16. you are unbelieveable. If he got 24 percent white vote and got 55 percent overall
then he got more of the "white" vote then your candidate! Who lost a LARGE proportion of the black vote....

Hillary only one by very very small percentages in NV and NH with Kucinich, Richardson, biden and Dodd still in the race.

And by the way...Hillary lost a large majority of the black vote she claimed to have. and guess what...AFRICAN AMERICANS AND YOUTH DO VOTE!!!

Those are two big states he can make a dent in. Hillary will win them, but he can get a significant amount of delegates.

Hispanic support for Hillary is very high and CA has a large hispanic population. To the extent that they vote, I don't know. Hillary has a huge lead according to ~polls~

Plus, I think he'll take Idaho. But he still needs to get out to Cali, at the very least to ensure a second place finish.

14. The Trend
As the primaries spread west you will see that Clinton has good support in the East and that will fade to black as the campaigns (sp) move west. Support for Obama will swell to JFK proportions. You will also see support (REP) for a McCain/ Huckabee ticket as things move west. The question is: "Who do you VP to Obama to counter the McCain/Huckabee claim of "LACK OF EXPERIANCE". This is the only question left in this race.

25. Obama cannot win in California or New York, IMO.
He needs strong second place finishes there to get delegates. However, I think people will find him surprisingly strong in the South. I also think the Western Plains states will show support for Obama as well. But, Obama will still need remain competitive on the east coast in places like NY, NJ, and MA.

As far as VP, that's a tough choice. Huckabee doesn't have much experience to speak of besides governor, but I think experience honestly matters less in this election than the desire for a change in the direction this country is headed. I've always liked Biden as a VP candidate, but I think Obama would probably go with Edwards.

The Republics would crucify him in the general. I'm not looking forward to 4 to 8 years of president McCain.

I am a little worried about MO, however. Have you seen any poll numbers there?

All my friends over in WeHo seem to like Hillary, but it seems to be from the same perspective as Gloria Gaynor & Donna Summers. They think she's one of them.

Polls from Campaign Courage, So Cal Dems & NE Dems ( w/ over 12k responding)show Hillary never getting more than 10%. Go figure.

Without one, we will continue to lose general elections. Dean was right about that. Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia... we need to win some of those states.

37. I think few believe Obama or Hillary
can take AL in the fall. That state voted in similar proportion for Bush the last two times. It's a solid red state, when it comes to most statewide elections and especially presidential elections for the time being.

But with a large African American population and excited turnout, Obama has a strong chance in winning the primary there, which is all that matters right now.
