3. Neither. If the Dems can't beat McLooney or MagicPants, they should look for easier work.
Like falling off logs.

5. I actually fear Huck more then either of these two...
Thankfully it doesn't look like he's amounting to much, but the thought of a Huckabee presidency scares the shit out of me, and he really seems to be the candidate to rally the Evangelical Thumpers.

I think Obama can beat either Mitt or John. Hillary also scares me - I don't think she can beat either... the Evangelicals will rally around a piece of dirt to vote against her. They'll stay home if Obama runs IMO

7. You know, increasingly I worry about Mittens. Not that we wouldn't
win against him, but it might be closer than we would think. Howard Fineman said that Mittens vs. Hillary would not be a cakewalk for Dems because then Hillary becomes the insider DC establishment, and Mittens is the outsider Governor who can fix what's broken (well, that's how he would position himself, anyway). And he knows more about the economy than McCain, who's clueless. McCain v Obama would be clear win for us. McCain v Hillary would be a win, but with a closer margin.

8. I'm afraid
that Obama would only beat McCain by 6 or 7 points, whereas he'd beat Romney by 20.

10. I have a friend who runs a political consulting firm in DC.
A year ago he said McCain's the biggest threat, and he continues to think so.

15. I think Mitt is a much bigger threat in a long drawn-out Presidential race
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 12:43 PM by HughMoran
He's got more BS talk than a street-corner hustler. McCain will wither again (as he has in the past) when the going gets tough.

17. What I fear is my fellow Democrats who seem to think McCain is a "maverick" and respect him
The medias constant lies of senator McCain as courageous, independent, moderate and maverick would be hard to overcome.

Romney, on the other hand, would be a piece of cake.

22. McCain at least has some appeal to moderates
Romney is a corporate empty suit with little appeal to average working people.
