We should root for Romney
In my opinion, the Repubs nominate Romney, they're toast. Whether we put up Clinton or Obama.

However, they nominate McCain, and we're toast. Clinton or Obama.

1. Obama can and will beat McCain if it comes to that.

Hillary can't; independent and fed-up republicans won't vote for her. Romney doesn't have a chance so yeah, I can go for that.

2. You don't think the anti-war crowd would sink McCain?
You might be right that he's their best candidate, but there are a handful of people who would rather we not have gone to war and who might actively organize against a nominee so supportive of Bush's war-against-the-world agenda.

<insert "willful understatement" smiley here>

3. was listening to book tv this morning, and the guy (shelby stone???)
who has written a book about obama, was talking about mccain, and how he is a "straight talker, etc" I want to know WHY this perception of mccain, the sellout, continues. it makes me ill, and makes me wish I could flash that pic of him embracing der chimpenfuhrer every time I hear it.

4. The media likes the hors d'oerves McCain gives them
And he laughs and jokes with them! Treats them as friends! So they by his so-called "Straight Talk" without question, even though simple Google searches would show a lot of that talk ain't that straight.

8. And who is McCain?
A Bush loving war hero. He'd have to steal the presidency like Bush did.

9. The absolute level of political naivete on this board
is STUPEFYING!!!!

There are many learned and experienced political junkies on this board. Unfortunately, a disproportionately small amount are partisans of Obama. If I see one more ignorant thread post aboput HOW EASY winning with Obama will be, I'm going to :puke:

Wake up!!! This Country has been under Republican domination for 8 years and Corporate Rule for much longer. Corporations are not giving up this gravy train very easily; the Chamber of Commerce lobby is ready to spend 60-100 milion dollars to campaign against any Democrat. Obama is ALREADY a FLIP-FLOPPER, based on his supposed anti-War Iraq stance, vitiated by his subsequent FUNDING!

The only thing that is a given, is that the Rethugs will be harder upon Obama than his followers, and the reality of an Election, especialy the GE, is that it is a heated battle.

Last time I checked, only John Edwards beats all Republicans handily; everyone else is a struggle.
