Hillary Supporters, I need some debunking help
My formerly republican dad has agreed that he will vote for Edwards or Obama if they are the Dem nominee but he won't for Hillary. Why, you might ask. Because of a book written by Kathleen Willey.

What I've found so far is:

Linda Tripp said Willey was the one coming onto Bill, not vice versa.
Willey sent Bill letters AFTER the supposed incident saying she was his biggest fan
Willey called Bill 11 times (confirmed by White House) AFTER the alleged incident

I've done some research looking for info but if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

16. What's the deal with stolen cats?
She blames the Clintons?

Shit, maybe I have to read the stupid book.

4. No...
evidently Willey says Bill molested her and Hillary harassed her and that Hillary was a major bitch and the white house was chaotic because of Hillary, etc. etc. etc.

He keeps nagging me to read the dumb book.

19. I can just hear Dave Letterman saying, "Where the hell are the stolen cats?"
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 09:35 PM by Jamastiene
And gee, all this time, I thought the Repukes were obsessed with little Willy, when all this time it had something to do with some cats. I really MUST find out about this now.

So, where are the stolen cats?

3. Good God ... it's a disease that will never end
Why are so many people pathologically emotionally obsessed with the Clintons?

It's beyond unhealthy. Someone is going to come to grief over all this hate.

8. Oh, why rehash this shit! Sorry, but if this is so important to him, maybe
you should let him vote for the others. I am really not in the mood of displaying here every nutty thing ever said. Look in the Hunting of the President - Conason's book. He refers to an Isicoff article on it - it was all a set up. A failed one.
Get the book from a library, check the index, find it.

14. No....
my dad thought what was done to Bill Clinton was disgraceful. He's not a typical republican. He's pro-choice and supports gay marriage.

20. No, conservatives would never support gay marriage at all.
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 09:39 PM by Jamastiene
Never. Not in a million years would conservatives support gay marriage or be pro-choice for that matter.

That's pretty much a benchmark of what a conservative is nowadays: hates gay rights or gay anything.

17. Yes, I remember. She wanted political favors and when she didn't
get them, she told all. That's why the sequence of events seems so odd.

18. There's plenty of kookiness coming up about her in google.
Just one example:

http://www.salon.com/news/1998/03/18news.html

Also claims that the Clintons stole her manuscript and murdered her husband.

I'm quite certain she's convinced the Clintons made her eat that chocolate cake last weekend, too. :eyes:

22. I don't know how they figure this but
somehow what is in Bill Clinton's trousers has the most power to do so many things. Personally, it just makes me want to see an interview with such a fascinating, powerful, busy creature. :P

21. For the reasons you mention Willey has no credibility
but she was paid handsomely by the right wing to publish that book and have it released now (or like last month). It's just more of the swiftboating of Hillary and Bill that's going on.

26. He believes anything Kathleen Willey writes?
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 10:46 PM by socialdemocrat1981
Kathleen Willey is of highly dubious credibility as an authentic figure -her past history is filled with lies and contradictions. Undoubtedly you've looked at her Wikipedia article since its the first thing that comes up on Google but, in case you haven't, here it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Willey

I'm the furthest thing possible from being a Hillary supporter but the whole witchhunt in the 1990s against Clinton was just disgustingly reprehensible and Kathleen Willey represents the very worst of it
