8. It Gets Pretty Bad...
... when you can do the dialogue to an episode from the other room.

*snap* *snap*

- Dave

P.S. Loved watching these after school.

9. In my house we do the "dialog thing" to the original Star Trek series
I can relate. What do kids learn the dialog to these days? I think we are relics - lol.

Dammit, I'm feeling my new demographic bracket!!!!!

- Dave

ACK! On edit, I just realized I typed "dammit" in a public place. Is this how it begins?

13. I do watch SpongeBob with the kids
Seems like most of the interesting stuff is animated these days - I hadn't thought of that :)

I like Courage the Cowardly Dog myself

I don't think about my demographic much - though I know something's changing as my joints aren't fully functional any more! :banghead:

14. For Christmas...
... I got Volumes 4 and 5 of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Looney_Tunes_Golden_Collection">Looney Tunes Golden Collection, unredacted.

:loveya:

Notably, they include a disclaimer about the depictions of certain stereotypes prevalent during the time when they were made.

Try to watch those classics without cracking up. It's rare to find a good animated show, but when I do, I still have a pre-programmed softspot.

Haven't seen Courage, but will give it a whirl.

As for joints: I can relate to that since the onset of Crohn's at 16. My grandmother and I are walking storm detectors.

15. I've always wondered what happened to all the
"inappropriate" stuff from that era. I've asked my parents about it and they can remember the existence of a lot of this stuff, but not much more. I was not aware of this reissue - thanks for the info :D

Yep, I can relate to the "storm detector" thing :(

6. Figured...
... but thought I'd tease. They belong in the family cluster in the edit (though I'd move the Addamses down there, too, truth be told). They were quirky, but loving (and they always opened their arms to the Cousin Itts, Sister Ophelias, and other odd extended members of the clan, plus they had their own Thing).

12. I'll Concede...
... that that is in the pantheon of dysfunctional families, although I will also be quick to point out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_in_the_family">it debuted before I was born.

18. Some of Those...
... shows from the 70s really fell flat with a youngster. I get them now, but they don't have the same immediacy or resonance.

Strangely enough, a lot of the stuff from the 50s and 60s resonates, though. Go figure.
