Antoin "Tony" Rezko was arrested early Monday at his Wilmette home by federal agents on an alleged bond violation, the Tribune has learned.

Investigators had in recent weeks become concerned about the movement of some of his finances, a source said.

Rezko, who is scheduled to stand trial on corruption charges in less than a month, was in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve, his trial judge, at 8:35 a.m. He could be seen at a defense table going over papers with his lawyer, Joseph Duffy. A jury is to be selected at Dirksen U.S. Courthouse to hear his case beginning Feb. 25.

Maybe there is nothing to all of this - I hope that's the case. But it doesn't matter you know. The Repugs wil use it so both Clinton and Obama WILL be addressing this, and probably until November.

Hillary Clinton during one of the Democratic debates told Barak Obama that she was "Fighting Republicans while he was still practicing law and working for slumlords like Tony Rezco." Tony Rezco is a Chicago developer that has had some questionable dealings. It was enough to make Hillary use him as an example as to what kind of man she believes Barak Obama is, even though she did not come right out and say so. It is a guilt through association, but is it wise to cast stones in a career that is fraught with undesirable people?

A photo has surfaced that shows, then First Lady and former President Clinton, posing with the infamous Tony Rezco. The three are full of smiles and seem to be very happy to pose in the photo-op. Tony Rezco has long been a supporter of the Democratic Party and has donated several thousands of dollars in campaign money to the Democratic Party, including Bill Clinton's re-election campaign.
