Nightmare GOP tickets
Regardless of our nominee, which ticket would you least want to be fighting this November?

I reckon McCain/Huckabee would be tough; McCain as a draw on the independents, sane Repubs, and a few Dems, while Huckabee would energize the crazytroopers of the base. That said, I think JRE, HRC and BHO all have it in them to beat that line-up.

1. Any ticket with Huckabee is a nightmare for the Repubs. not the Dems.
My father-in-law who is an economic conservative has implied he would sit out the election if Huckabee was on the ticket in any capacity.

I have a feeling that Huckabee scares the sh*t out of a significant number of Republican leaning voters as well.

2. maybe
But the Taliban wing were important in 2004, and they seem disaffected by most all the candidates apart from Huck.

3. Most VPs don't turn off voters
In the end, it appears that VP choices don't have much influence on voters. There may be an exception with McCain - because he would be 75 at the end of his first term.

I personally think McCain/Huckabee vs. Obama/Richardson. However, McCain may try to heal his party with a VP who has unquestioned credentials as both a fiscal and religious conservative. Many fiscal conservatives distrust Huckabee because he appears to care too much about blue collar Americans.

4. Nightmare tickets on both sides for the corporate types? Huckabee/Paul vs. Edwards/Kucinich
I'm guessing that would drag out Bloomberg to run and suddenly choices beyond the two party system being becoming "in style" with the corporate media propaganda.
