I didn't want to believe this was anything but a sick, transparent fake by some frustrated freeper. Sadly, I was wrong. :wow:

1. Is this the Clintons sending out their surrogates...
...to suggest the reprehensible and spout off the incendiary---while they
saunter around the country with their smiling faces?

Is this how it's going to be played from now on?

3. Not for long -- this could be the end of the Clintons' bullshit
I hope this is picked up by every media outlet in the country.

5. They find it impossible to campaign...
...without destroying someone, don't they?

I feel sorry for them.

They look pathetic and desperate, not to mention really ignorant.

Drunk on their own presumed power, and too sloshed to see how they
look to the rest of us--who are quite sober.

I am so thoroughly disgusted by this that it is hard to pick the right words.

4. As an BO supporter, I doubt HRC campagin would sanction this
This will not help her. It plays into the 'whacko feminazi' meme and just like Barack doesn't want to be the 'black' candidate, HRC doesn't want to be the 'feminist' candidate, IMHO.

7. Though I can believe they would not "not sanction" it
If that makes any sense...

13. I know what you mean
But what would they do, send out text messages or email to people telling to say crazy shit? or something more secretive like execute Operation Restore Justice? I suppose its conceivable, but not likely. I think this is the work of one particularly partisan semmi-unhinged activist too emotionally wrought with the campaign, letting loose during a news cycle that happens to favor Obama.

Now if we see a slew of things like this I might change my opinion.

:-)

9. Idiots exist on the left as well as the right...this has no bearing on HRC
Truly, if the campaigns had to address every leftist crackpot who posted a bizarre blog entry, they'd never talk about anything resembling the needs of the country. This has nothing to do with Hillary's campaign. People that would support this type of rant will ALREADY be voting for her - this is not who Hillary is targeting.

And yes, I support Obama.

10. Can you direct me to the part of that statement that has you so "outraged"
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 05:09 PM by Harvey Korman
because I don't see it.

Partisan, yes. It's someone from a women's organization railing against (perceived) sexism being used against a woman candidate. But "sick?" :eyes:

EDIT: The "gang raping" metaphor is a little over the top. Other than that...?

11. You're right. The part where she compares politics to mass rape isn't troubling at all.
And I can understand how you missed it -- it's craftily hidden in the main title.

15. A disturbing and unnecessary choice of metaphors.
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 05:14 PM by Harvey Korman
Although some of the sexist innuendo and namecalling I've seen is far more disturbing, and it often gets a pass.

16. And sadly, NOW has lost my support.
They obviously do not respect the right of women to think and choose for themselves.

IMO, with this they have lost all credibility.

21. Disgusting...NOW does NOT represent this woman
This insults the intelligence of all women. This is the crap that suffragettes fought against in trying to get the right to vote: Women are not smart enough to vote on issues, they are just emotional and will vote for who or what they feel sorry for.
THAT IS WHAT NOW IS TELLING US WE ARE CHARGED TO DO!!!

Vote for Hillary:
So kid won't taunt other kids on the playground
So you won't be a silent bystander to a gang rape Because the guys are picking on her
Because men are afraid of a powerful woman
So you won't be a supporter of a patriarchal system
Because Hillary is willing to stick her neck out for us
Because the good ole boys ganging up on her
We are charged to: SUPPORT WOMEN!
So female seniors see a woman in the White House before they die
let's not let young women and little girls down
so young girls and women know they can be important?
put a stop to the psychological “gang banging” of women and girls.

BULLSHIT.

I am more concerned with a candidate that can deal with National Security and enemies that threaten to kill us, not say "I'm your girl"
I will vote for a candidate that isn't a silent bystander when her husband tells the children of this country that oral sex isn't really sex...to see girls in school giving blow jobs so they are popular...cuz it really isn't sex (boy, womans lib has come a long way...hasn't it)
I will vote for a woman if she really is powerful ...enough to stand up to her own husband for starters...and stick her neck out for her own dignity
I will vote for a candidate that supports the women that have been sexually harassed and abused by her own husband
I will vote for a candidate that will hold accountable the man that demeans all women, young and old instead of blaming 'the vast right wing majority'
I will vote for a candidate that doesn't gang bang me with demand that I owe her my vote because I am a woman

I will vote for the candidate of MY CHOICE, not any one else's, I have fought for my rights as a woman and NOW isn't going to take it away from me and I will not surrender my right to choose a candidate based on my preferences not theirs.

22. Here's another one of hers, just as bad or worse.
She accuses Howard Dean, Jim Dean, and Ted Kennedy of being anti-women.

"And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one). “They” are Howard Dean and Jim Dean (Yup! That’s Howard’s brother) who run DFA (that’s the group and list from the Dean campaign that we women helped start and grow). They are Alternet, Progressive Democrats of America, democrats.com, Kucinich lovers and all the other groups that take women's money, say they’ll do feminist and women’s rights issues one of these days, and conveniently forget to mention women and children when they talk about poverty or human needs or America’s future or whatever."
