For those who say Edwards supporters have to fear who "might win" if he stays in...

That's a fallacious argument. That's the ONLY concern that might make people concerned, but if is of no value. Why? Think about it. If Edwards stays in and stays valuable (15% to 20% or more), then he likely sends all candidates to a brokered convention. I would argue with that scenario, he CAN'T lose by doing so.

Some would say that if he continues to run, he will take vote away from Obama and let Hillary win instead. How is this possible? If Hillary has enough votes to get a 50% majority or better before the convention with Edwards still running, then it WOULDN'T MATTER if Edwards were running or not! All things being equal, even if Obama would take ALL of Edwards votes, he wouldn't get enough to overcome Hillary's over 50% mark now would he!

So, given that whether he stays in or not won't affect the outcome in terms of having a "less desirable candidate win", then WHAT DOES HE HAVE TO LOSE continuing to run? As long as we continue to fund his campaign!

He has EVERYTHING TO GAIN and NOTHING TO LOSE. And through doing so, we supporters of his and the ideas he's putting forth have NOTHING TO LOSE and EVERYTHING TO GAIN if he stays in.

That's the deal! DEAL with it folks!

1. Plus who would give them ideas for their campaign speeches if
he drops out? They'd have to think of their own.

2. Not only does Edwards have nothing to lose, but so do we...
We have everthing to gain from voting for a President who will know how to walk us through the worst economy since the depression. The only question we need to be able to answer is do you want a corpoate President talking head speaking on behave of the most comfortable or a President who understands the needs of working families, and those families that need work.

10. They might have to give up and get behind Al Gore!
If it gets to the brokered convention. ANOTHER reason for Edwards to stay in!

8. Good analysis
A brokered convention would be the greatest thing since sliced bread, IMO.

16. The way things are going, he's still has a very good chance.
I used to think Obama would be a better candidate than Clinton, not any more.
I still, of course, prefer any of them over any republican, but I don't have
much of a preference between Clinton and Obama. They are both taking way more
money from corporations, and that comes with a price. These corporations aren't
doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. Obama's voting record, considering the
'present' votes, missed votes, and bad votes (which I've recently learned of),
is not all that stellar. Charming, good speaker? I don't care, charm doesn't
appeal to me.
