Running mate choices if Obama wins the nomination
Now that the primaries have started, I'm looking ahead to try and figure out who Obama would choose as his running mate. I really haven't seen too much about that yet and I'm curious.

My real life has been quite busy lately, so if I've missed some obvious conversation, please don't slam me. I'm tryin' to stay on top of things with what little free time I have. Thanks in advance! :)

1. Why waste energy thinking about something that won't happen?

9. Webb is a horrid choice...not gonna happen...
For like the third thread today on this, as a resident of VA, I can assure you this won't happen. Webb got raked over the coals in the Senate election over his 1980s writings against women in the military. Obama wants More women voting for him, not less. Also, we will lose a senate seat if Webb leaves - not right away but definitely after his term is up.

Mark Warner is the only sure choice if you want the Dems to have a chance at VA. But this too costs us a Senate seat. And no, Kaine doesn't have the support Warner does.

10. Kaine
I think Kaine needs to stay where he is for us in Virginia, so I didn't think to put him out in the discussion.

8. Holbrooke
I don't know much about Holbrooke but it seems like he's got some pretty decent foreign policy experience. Anything else you know about him?
