Whoa, Craig Crawford totally trashed the Kennedys on Morning Joe
Just b/c they backed Obama. I can't remember all taht was said but here goes:

He said Teddy always backs the loser. They were a decrepid family & what good will this endorsement do?

He said the "Jesse" comment was not racist and good politics. He said said its stupid that ppl complain about using Obama's full name "Barack Hussein Obama". And he said the full name.

At this point Mika & Joe are shocked and Joe accuses him of being in the Clinton camp.

Strongest words I've heard Craig use to date. Are we sure hes not a republican?

1. Crawford is pretty insightful.
Maybe he has something here. I wouldn't dismiss what he says out of hand.

anything wrong with that.

5. I agree with you there.
He is usually quite a realist. He was just trying to say that the Kennedy endorsement is not going to play well in some areas of the country. He was also questioning the motivation of the Kennedy's for endorsing Obama so forcefully. Endorsing does come with some risks. What if Clinton becomes President? There will be some hard feelings there. I think people who publicly endorse candidates usually have an agenda or they would just keep their mouths shut.

3. Jesse JACKSON said the Jesse comment wasn't racist!!!
And he's probably in a pretty good position to know.

Craig Crawford doesn't pull punches, and he is usually correct.

16. How would Jesse Jackson know? He's a baby boomer, part of that old generation
preoccupied with issues of the past, unlike baby boomer Barack Obama, part of that new generation offering Hope, Change and reconciliation with those who have shredded the Constitution and Bill of Rights while stealing us blind.

Obama Called Out Ted Kennedy: "You're Getting A Little Old...Get Some Spine"
December 18, 2007 02:01 PM

While on the campaign trail, Sen. Barack Obama's constant refrain has been that on legislative matters of great import, he is the one major candidate who could bring all parties to the table. Health care? Hillary has too much baggage. Energy policy? Edwards would alienate the business community.

But back when he was an Illinois State Senator in 2003, Obama himself was thirsting for a fight. And when it came to a prescription drug bill being considered by Congress, he was willing to call out even Sen. Ted Kennedy, the liberal lion, for not showing enough political backbone.

"We've got to call up not just Republicans," said the Illinois Democrat, "but we got to call up Ted Kennedy and say, Ted, you're getting a little old now, and you've been a fighter for us before I don't know what's happening now, Ted get some spine and stand up to the Republicans."

Watch the video, obtained exclusively by the Huffington Post:....

America was conned with "I'm a uniter, not a divider" once before. And THAT idiot taught us "Fooled me once, er, won't git fooled aGIN!!!"

Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 09:30 AM by Gloria
in. That was the quote that really pissed me off finally! What IS he invested in?? Corporate lobbyists???

Today's hopeful ones can shoot themselves in the foot...don't they get that the same issues that Jesse and MLK fought for are STILL not won and still being fought for?????? Economic justice is the main one....by the way, that's why MLK III told Edwards to stay in the race!!

Obama is successfully dividing the older and younger generations--he's really great at change!! I've been thinking he's like Ohio's Ken Blackwell...undermining black voters, once he got in with the in crowd, in his case the Republicans.

20. Not sure what Crawford's deal is on this one. As for the Kennedy endorsement,
I can't think of any Democratic candidate anyplace at any level of the ballot who wouldn't covet it.

New York's NOW chapter's Marcia Pappas gave us a gauge of how important the Kennedy endorsement is when she accused Ted of "betraying women" by not endorsing Sen. Clinton. If the endorsement meant less than it does, NY NOW would have issued a terse statement and that would have been about it.

Beyond which candidate is endorsed by which high-profile Dem, there is also the deep and abiding love many older voters still have for the Kennedys. The endorsement yesterday by Ted Kennedy touched that nerve once more and reminded a hell of a lot of people how we felt about our country under the influence of that family.

27. This is the statement by Craig that hopefully will make some of
the whore media take notice:

"The evidence-free bias against the Clintons in the media borders on mental illness.
If you try to be fair to the Clintons, if you try to be objective, if you try to ask,
'Where's the evidence of racism in the Clinton campaign?'
you're accused of being a naïve shill for the Clintons... I really think it's a problem."
Craig Crawford

There is no evidence that the Clintons are racists, but the whore media says there is - and some Democrats believe them.Clinton's presidency might've been a smooth ride if he hadn't fought for Blacks and gays, but the second an issue pops up, that "loyalty" goes right down the drain.

Obama's anti-war stance IS and WAS a fairy tale, but according to the WaHoPo, black people can never forgive him for speaking that truth. According to the WaHoPo, blacks also can never forgive Hillary for stating the fact that civil rights legislation would
never have happened if LBJ hadn't twisted some Demo arms in the mid sixties.

It reminds me of the Superman comics I read as a kid. Something would happen, something little, and all of the people of Metropolis and America and the world would suddenly hate Superman, even tho he'd saved the planet a dozen times over.

But who is surprised?

36. No, Obama has Caldwell
and McClurkin to attack not his rivals but entire minority groups that they don't like. Attacking an entire Democratic voter based. And dismissing the resultant divisions as irrelevant. I'm sorry, but since last summer Obama and his campaign have been the coldest and most divisive Democrats I have ever seen. Hillary comes in a close second, but Obama and his Bush loving Bashers take the cake.
I've opposed Obama due to his baiting and pandering for months on end now. Perhaps because it is targeted at my family, I take it to heart. Perhaps because it is not targeted at yours, you manage not to even see it.
Obama is my last choice, due to his coldness and divisivness and the harm he has caused my community to gain some votes. I like some of his other policies, but not the 'let the Fundies make the rules' routine.
