OMG, now Romney is going after McCain for when McCain thought about being Kerry's VP running mate
They showed it this morning on one of the morning shows. First McCain accuses Romney of being too liberal, so then Romney goes on the air making fun of how McCain and Kerry almost became running mates on Kerry's ticket in 2004. I knew all that Kerry/McCain stuff would come back to haunt us. Arghh!!

1. This never actually happened
There was never any serious chance that McCain would have been Kerry's VP pick.

5. Thank goodness. I'm just glad McCain decided against it.
A Kerry/McCain ticket would have been the most embarrassing thing to ever happen.

11. There was never any serious discussion of a ticket like that
And I got this directly from someone I know who works in Kerry Boston office. It was a total bullshit rumor that was started by McCain's people.

2. It's just Romney and McCain sniping at each other
In what sense does it "haunt" Democrats?

7. Because
it's so embarrassing each time the idea of Kerry/McCain pops up. I don't know who came up with that brilliant strategy of courting McCain to be Kerry's VP running mate, but I'm glad it never came to fruition. It's bad enough now that Romney is referring to it.

8. Just rewatched the clip of Mittens calling McCain a liberal democrat, and boy,
I hadn't noticed how he was spitting and slurping through the tirade. It was disgusting. And enormously amusing to watch.

9. This is just the start of it...
a lot of repuke voters remember McCain's "hijacking" of the nuclear option issue by making the deal with some Democrats, they remember (rightly or wrongly) McCain "selling out" repukes to get more face time on TV for being a "maverick". I don't really remember McCain helping us all that much, but my repuke brother can remember a bunch of times McCain "sold them out". I'm surprised other repuke candidates, especially Romney, haven't pushing this sort of stuff more.
