Hillary supports the surge? This I did not know.
From last night:

When Bush proclaimed, “Ladies and gentlemen, some may deny the surge is working, but among terrorists there is no doubt,” Clinton sprang to her feet in applause but Obama remained firmly seated. The president’s line divided most of the Democratic audience, with nearly half standing to applaud and the other half sitting in stony silence.

3. So, she applauds something she doesn't agree with?
That makes a lot of sense.

14. Hillary applauded the success of our brave troops - you have a problem with the troops?

7. That is why I posed that snippet. I thought she was against the surge
but apparently, she is indicating that she agrees that it is a smashing success with her standing ovation of that comment.

Color me confused. Again.

5. She and Obama have identical voting records about the surge and all other matters related to Iraq
during the years during which both have served in the Senate. There is an actual public record of both opposing the surge. Last night was political theater. She chose to be viewed as being happy that Al Quada appears to be weaker inside Iraq now compared to a year ago. Obama chose to visually accent his differences with Bush. They are somewhat different visual political statements, but their actual words and votes have not been at odds on this.

6. Hillary supports the troops! And if she didn't the Republicans would
be all over this as they will be when they begin their attacks on Obama.

8. I think that the surge has been too politicized to tell if it's working or not
although really, the question of whether or not it's working is a red herring.... it's sort of like asking if female circumcision is effective at removing the clitoris.

10. So, the troops who have sacrificed to make this surge work
don't deserve applause for their victories? There have been some you know. And the military was represented at the SOTU last night.

22. Very telling and explains why "the snub" is getting so much play here today.
Zogby said on Washington Journal that the rightwing ideologues (i.e., necons) want Hillary to win.

She's clearly their girl.
