Has anyone else heard this rumour?
Hey,

I may be alittle late..but I was watching the latest Bill Maher show, and on it someone mentioned that there have been rumours going around the country that Rupert Murdoch and his people have compiled a list of Bill Clintons alleged latest affairs, and are preparing to bring them out should Hillary get the nomination.

Has anyone heard this? Valid? It is pretty serious.

THIS IS NOT AN ANTI-HILLARY or PRO-OBAMA thread.. I just simply want to discuss this issue like civilized people. thanks

1. Yes...
I believe that I read it here at the DU. I have no idea if this is true. I tend to think not.

3. Oh I am sure that Murdoch will do anything to stop them from power.
If there was anything tangable, it would already be news!

4. I think it's obvious that:
1. Bill is still Bill, and didn't stop being Bill once Monica was aired.
2. Bill is both an asset and a liability to Hillary's campaign.
3. This isn't really going to affect anything; people who are offended by Bill aren't voting for Clinton anyway.

5. Why would a Murdock owned station compile a list against...
....someone that Ruppert Murdock himself held a fundraiser for in NYC?

6. It doesn't have to be true. Just the repeating of the rumour does the damage intended.

7. Don't have a link, but I believe it was mentioned on MSNBC's SOTU wrap-up last night.
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 01:21 PM by samdogmom
I think I heard it mentioned during the program. (I don't have a link, sorry!)

On Edit: I just want to add that I would find any "story" dug up, repugnant. I truly don't think this issue is relevant if Hillary is the candidate.

Are we investigating other candidate's spouses? If not, then it is truly not fair!

11. Wouldn't surprise me
in the least. Murdoch, Scaiffe, Ailes. They are all notorious Clinton haters and probably have no problem with pouring in gazillions of their own moeny to bring them down.

We can hope that there is nothing to investigate. We'll see.

12. Uh, Bill is not running this time. Might backfire and give Hillary a sympathy
vote. Also, might backfire and cause some others to brin to the fore ALL of JFK's affairs just to spite Obama supporters like Ted Kennedy. This would be a huge "dirty trick" that would backfire on the Republicans, I think. There is no upside to this. Bill can handle this type of trashing as he has done it before. Murdoch would be the ultimate hypocrite here. Of course, that doesn't seem to stop most men who seem to think that the only affairs that are bad are not their own. And Larry Flynt might get into the fray...and Republicans will not want that.

17. Ruupert Murdoch's politics are to the left of WSJ--his recently
acquired Newspaper.

He held fundraiser for HRC.

Those accusations have been aired ad nauseam on TV MSNBC
and HuffPost.

If there is any collecting going on, it would not be Murdoch.
