It's really hard to believe that John McCain may be the nominee on the repuke side. But if he is, I honestly believe Obama would do better against him than Clinton. McCain is used to fighting and making fun of Clintons. He even slurred poor Chelsea. He has no fear of debating or campaigning against the Clintons.

But Obama is something he's ever done battle with before. He's unfamiliar with the sort of optimism and energy that Obama represents. Furthermore, McCain is worn out, weak. He can't even "fake" competing with Obama's spiritual energy. Obama would kill him in a debate, and McCain would not even be able to find a good comeback.

HRC is very capable, but McCain knows her too well. He's too sexist, probably, to give her the respect she is due.

I thought we would most likely be running against 9ui11iani. In spite of his retardation, McCain is a formidable opponent. And he's a bully when it comes to Hillary. How can she neutralize his bullying sexism and political pretension?

Maybe his attacks on HRC would backfire on him. For intelligent people it would; but many Americans are not that intelligent.

On the other hand, maybe Obama could whip his ridiculous old ass. I can't picture McCain holding his own against Obama, or Edwards for that matter.

1. The press honeymoon ends for Obama as soon as he's the nominee
Once it becomes white guy vs black guy, the Republicans will easily win and drag down the house of representatives with Obama.

3. Still, Obama would be a much better GE candidate than Clinton
I think McCain beats either of them but Hillary would hurt the party down ballott in a way that Obama won't.

There will be Dem candidates literally running for the hills when she comes to town.

5. So we'd better pick the white guy just in case . . .

2. Maybe, maybe not
I'd prefer Obama, and I do think him more likely to defeat McCain than Clinton would be. But if the Nation wants Clinton - if that's the way the nomination goes, I won't be heavily disappointed. We've still got a ways to go before anything is certain though. Anything could happen, one move, one speech, one political slam dunk, could be the difference between victory and defeat.

4. McCain may well destroy Obama
I will bet on the old shark versus the eager rookie any day.

He has experience up the wazoo and will NOT be cowed by cries of "unfairness" and "racism" or whatever excuse Obama's campaign comes up with when the repukes take off the gloves. They simply don't care and don't ever get the votes that may be lost to such hardball tactics. They will paint him as weak and too inexperienced for the job.

Obama hasn't even begun to be vetted, not on his record, not on his experience or lack thereof not on much of anything.

This will all change in a GE.

Sure, the Clintons will cut your balls off to win. Which is exactly why they can take on the republican machine.

6. I hope it is Obama vs McCain
This would be a very clear-cut choice: if you want change, vote Obama. If you want things to stay the same, vote McCain. Any simpleton can get this one. And if the record numbers of people going to the polls is any indication, people want change. People don't go to the polls and wait in long lines if they want a continuation of the same.
