Handy Guide to How Many Delegates Will Be At Play In Democratic Primary in Florida
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 08:25 PM by zulchzulu
Here's are some hints how many delegates are up for grabs in the Democratic primary in Florida:

Zero is a number which quantifies a count or an amount of null size; that is, if the number of your brothers is zero, that means the same thing as having no brothers, and if something has a weight of zero, it has no weight. If the difference between the number of pieces in two piles is zero, it means the two piles have an equal number of pieces.

Before counting starts, the result can be assumed to be zero; that is the number of items counted before you count the first item and counting the first item brings the result to one. And if there are no items to be counted, zero remains the final result.

While mathematicians accept zero as a number, some non-mathematicians would say that zero is not a number, arguing that one cannot have zero of something (for example, 'zero oranges'). Others hold that if one has a bank balance of zero, one has a specific quantity of money in that account, namely none.

Almost all historians omit the year zero from the proleptic Gregorian and Julian calendars, but astronomers include it in these same calendars. However, the phrase Year Zero may be used to describe any event considered so significant that it serves as a new base point in time.

We can thank the Florida Democratic Party for disenfranchising the Florida voters who would liked to have had a decent campaign in their state. Bastards!

Yeah zulchzulu did this
:eyes:

Clinton didn't have to sign the 'pledge' to not campaign in MI or FL - she could have stood up to the DNC and campaigned and set up a campaign HQ and done rallies. She could have joined in the law suits against the DNC in support of the FL delegates.

Instead played the game - pandering to the first four states (that didn't break the DNC's rules) - and after her incredible SC loss ALL OF A SUDDEN decided to campaign in Florida and ask that Florida's and Michigan's delegates be counted.

Seems Clinton was all for disenfranchising Florida voters when it would help her campaign and is now all for rewarding the Florida legislature and Florida Democratic Party for breaking the rules so she can receive the delegate count.

I wonder if lightning struck tonight and Clinton didn't sweep FL if she'd be all for seating those delegates. Naaaaaaahhhhhh.

22. What does that have to do with Clinton wanting things one way one day
and changing her mind the next? If she was SO concerned about Florida voters why did she sign the pledge? She could have campaigned in Florida and chose not to - she could have stood up for Florida and chose not to - that is until she lost Iowa....lost South Carolina....:eyes:

18. He Thinks It Funny
As a Floridian I think it's sad that if Obama is the nominee the Pugs can hold this state without spending a dime... The Cubans love McCain because he hates Communists... The rest of the Latino community likes him because he's one of the few Pugs who doesn't want to send them all back home...

Ditto for Ohio...They won't have to spend a cent there...

8. I live in Michigan, I don't get delegates either, It is not that big a deal
The state broke the rules and the party removed the delegates.

ACCOUNTABILITY !!!!

Clinton supporters need to go look that word up. I know it goes against everything they believe in but at least they can begin to understand where the rest of us are coming from.

32. That was a real shame about Michigan too
I remember doing some grassroots work in Madison this summer and people from Michigan would come up and ask about the primaries. I hated telling them that their vote was diminished by the Michigan Democratic party.

It truly sucked.

9. There is NOTHING the Obama team will not run over to win..
they will scream "racism"..yet toss out Florida votes.
They scream "equality"..yet demean women
They yell "bigotry" yet embrace anti-gay activists
Add that to the disturbing embracing of the right wing talking points that is common to his supporters..
and you have one very sad candidate

16. So is Obama responsible for what the Florida Democratic Party did to Florida Democrats?
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 07:56 PM by zulchzulu
I expect to see the memo on the Hillary shill blogs any minute now.

Do you even have a semblance of understanding WHY the Florida Democratic vote is so screwed up? Are you defending the Florida Democratic Party officials that disenfranchised the Florida voters?

Is this over your head?

13. yeah, I don't know if that was the best way for the party to deal with
everyone moving up their primary. It sends a weird message of disenfranchisement, and the states just went ahead and moved em up anyway.

Seems to me they could have negotiated this better. Oddly, one effect of all the early primaries seems to be less of a lock on the nomination (well, so far.)
