What I wish Keith would have asked Sen. Clinton...
Why did Senator Clinton feel the need to make the request to seat Florida's delegates just a few days BEFORE the Florida primary?

Couldn't this move be seen as pandering, as an effort to skirt the "no campaigning" agreement, knowing that the request to seat the delegates would be given widespread coverage on local news in Florida*, painting Hillary Clinton in a favorable light and as a "friend of the Florida voter"?
    * I'd be interested in seeing a news story on just how much coverage this request *did* get in Florida's news media. Might it not have had an effect on the vote margin? And, if so, how close to the line of "campaigning" did it come, ethically vs "legally"?

Couldn't the request have been made AFTER the Florida primary, perhaps during her "victory" speech, where it wouldn't have had ANY effect on the vote?

Was a similar request made immediately before or after the Michigan primary? If not, again, why the timing of the Florida request, just a couple days before the "no campaigning" primary?

1. Stop that!
You're making sense. I'm pretty sure that's against the DU rules.

2. so far, its all McCain and Amendment 1
and all of you whining about Florida - you shouldn't care about seating delegates. That is NOTHING to the fact the fucking Amendment will cut jobs and services in this state.

But its all about the delegates.

what. ever.

4. If you want to win in November, we better start kissing Florida's ass.
This is one state we do not need to piss off. We will need these Florida Democrats to come out in full force in November to help us win. We need to kiss and make-up. Rules can be set in place to seat these delegates. The last thing we need is for the republican nominee to remind the voters how we would not allow them to have a voice in choosing our nominee.

Edwards and Obama need to visit Florida.

5. Visit Florida... certainly, as time allows.
"Must seat the delegates"... not Florida's and not Michigan's, not if they affect the nomination. These two primaries were not "free and fair" elections, and are tainted by candidates not being allowed to campaign.

The Democratic nominee will bend over backward to try to get these states back in the Democratic column before November, but let's not pretend that that was Hillary's motivation. Hillary's request was self-centered, an attempt to boost her support among Florida's voters in the primary, so that she could claim some faux victory after her drubbing in the contested primary in South Carolina.
