To John Edwards' Supporters, My Condolences
I was watching the coverage after the SOTU as well as south carolina.

I've admitted I've never been to fond of john, but as a biden supporter, I can feel your pain. he's ran a real good campaign and in the debates he's showed a lot of class and poise and definitely made me reconsider him twice. he's also been more head on about confronting the republicans, something that obama has refused to do with his rhetoric of "working together." I'm sorry, but I'm not quite ready to make nice with karl rove. thats not going to win an election.

he got a raw deal. hopefully, he continues to stay active. and I've said before and will say it again, if he took a run at democratic party chairman, I would indeed support that.

again, my condolences. its something all of us who support "change" and "experience" as more than just buzz words for the title of "front runner of the week" want to see more of.

1. Condolences are not required -- he's not finished yet.
I realize his chances aren't good, but he hasn't hung it up yet. I just went to a rally for him where he spoke, and I'm even more enthusiastic about him than ever. He has my vote next Tuesday.

we biden supporters know the feeling. its a raw fucking deal, to be sure.

21. Clark supporters know how you feel too....boy do we...2004 is like
today for Edwards, and yesterday for Kuchinic...it's damned hard to take...and something should be done to prevent this sort of thing from happening....it's hard enough to run...w/o the media being allowed to make it impossible...wb

5. I'm just hoping he hangs on until Feb. 5 so I can vote for him. He's the only candidate willing
to fight the corporatists, pharmaceutical companies, and the health care industry. He's the only candidate, IMCPO, who would actually CARE about the poor in this country. It's so sad the people don't embrace his message.:(

8. Me thinks BO/HC supporters getting nervous
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 12:26 AM by sjdnb
... seeing the possibility of a brokered convention in their future. And, therefore, trying to get Edwards supporters to 'bow out' --- nice try, ain't gonna happen. At this point, I suspect, even if John didn't have the funds/org to go on, his supporters still would.

And, as far as the 'party chairman' bone you tossed goes -- throw it to Obama or Hillary.

10. Its an Obama campaign talking point
I spoke with some youngsters today who had been phone banking for Obama. Its part of their script to say, among other things:

Edwards is hurting the party and Obama by staying in the race; he's hurting our chances of winning the WH

and

Obama does not accept contributions from corporations

Needless to say, I had to give them a little education. They thought it was true.

14. WHAT IF..........
What if Clinton and Obama annihilate each other and he's the last one standing? There's a long way to go and anything can happen, so you just never know...

15. Only one of the two needs to be annihilated.
Then the media will have to focus on Edwards and candidate "B".
