Voting is over rated. Like Stephanie Miller said this morning, Voting is
like being in the back of the plane and your choices are Ham sandwich with cheese or ham sandwich without cheese.

I have lived through lots of elections and it always works out that I don't have anyone from the two major parties to vote for.

With Edwards leaving, voting in the general will be like choosing a corporatist with cheese or a corporatist without.

Forgive me Stephanie for elaborating a little.

1. Is that supposed to mean that you aren't voting for a Democrat
...because you aren't voting?

3. Well, if you want to be on the plane without choosing something to eat, that's fine.
But it's a long flight.

9. I want a candidate that will work to eliminate the corporatist ruling-class control
in government. Is that too much to ask for? Will your candidate do that?

10. No such thing as too much to ask for. But when reality hits, you are left with the
available choices.

On most online screenings, I am closest to alignment with Kucinich. I rarely disagree with him in principle, but I think he's a very poor candidate with zero chance. I also very much like JOhn Edwards - I've never had a badthing to say about him, and I would be thrilled with him as President. But that's also not happening.

I've got Obama, Clinton or the Republican. Those are the real choices. I don't know if any will meet ehat you're asking for - probably not. But I'd suggest that even if they do not, the Republican would be worse in a number of ways.

11. I know, I know, I know. I hate reality. Thanks for the reply. Today I am feeling sorry
for myself, tomorrow I will continue the fight.

13. Sorry Rhett. I don't mean to be insensitive to how you're feeling.
I think I might have just had a head start on my processing the situation.

14. It's cool. I just want to wallow in my self pity for a while, and dream of a strong middle class.

4. Then maybe you can understand when some of your representatives in the state legislature
and in Congress feel the same way when they vote on the bills.

There is just so much they can do personally to get the bill the way they want it before it is voted on.

5. And damn it, it is difficult when you want to keep kosher or halal
The illusion of choice in a US election:

Waitress: Well there's egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam; egg, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam; spam, spam, spam, egg and spam; spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam; or lobster thermidor aux crevettes, with a mornay sauce garnished with truffle paté, brandy and a fried egg on top and spam.

Mrs. Bun: Have you got anything without spam in it?

Waitress: Well, there's spam, egg, sausage and spam. That's not got MUCH spam in it.

Mrs. Bun: I don't want ANY spam.

Mr. Bun: Why can't she have egg, bacon, spam and sausage?

Mrs. Bun: That's got spam in it!

Mr. Bun: Not as much as spam, egg, sausage and spam.

Mrs. Bun: Look, could I have egg, bacon, spam and sausage, without the spam.

Waitress: Uuuuuuggggh!

Mrs Bun: What d'you mean, uugggh! I don't like spam.

6. "if voting could change anything..."
"...it would be illegal"

Spoken by a Marxist/Leninist/Stalinist I had the displeasure of knowing in college
