HELP ME UNDERSTAND. Why is John pulling? (No haters PLEASE)
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 10:22 AM by LibraLiz1973
I am so very, very upset that John is dropping out now, before Super Tuesday.
John had pledged to us time and again that he was in it to the convention.
He wanted us all to have our say... I haven't even had the chance to cast a vote for him yet.
I just donated money AGAIN to help his campaign.

What is going on????

2. My guess is that the money has dried up.
He never broke through anywhere so people with money to spend started looking around.

3. I assume he wanted to affect Super Tuesday. I think he worries that if he were to wait,
Clinton's win margin would exceed his delegate totalbeyond his margin; I'd guess he figures that the value of his endorsement or nonendorsement is at its peak.

As for "in it to the convention?" Politicians say what they need to in order to accomplish what they need to. He wasn't malicious.

4. I think he was concerned about unity.
A brokered convention would involve some pain and hard feelings (I wanted him to take it to the convention).

I think he has considered the effect that having a clear nominee would have on the party - it would unite all of us and allow the Michigan and Florida delegates to be seated.

I'm almost 90% sure that he will endorse Obama. They have had a little dialogue here and there, and I think Obama is now prepared to step up to the plate and accept Edwards' message of corporate accountability.

I'm so sad to see him go, though. I was going to vote for him on 2/5 and now I'm not sure what I will do.

5. he wants your money to go to a better use
maybe a future run that he feels he can win, maybe donate to another cause if he can do that.
