Here is to hoping....Obama?

Hoping that I do not get lumped in with the other Obama supporters who I have come to loathe.
Edwards is out.
So for me, I have no one to get behind that doesnt make me hold my nose.
Hillary? Nope. Never.
Obama? Maybe...
But his supporters here at DU have (IMO) been the suckiest bunch of sucks to ever grace our pages. I have like 20 of them on ignore because I could not stand the pettiness and name calling. Manically posting the same attacks against Hillary day after day, hour after hour... Just this morning I added three more who seem to feel that beating on JE is helping Obama.
Obama isnt half the Progressive JE is.

So now that the corporate media has chosen who I can vote for, my cards will lay with Obama.
But if that fucker lets me down after being elected, I am kicking some one's ass.

You sometimes wonder what it is about a candidate that attracts such nasty, vitriolic buttheads. My observation, though, is that both Obama and the Clintons have an approximately equal number of obnoxious supporters (and even Edwards had a couple), so that makes it a little easier to look at each candidate independently from the douchebags who think they are doing their candidate a favor by constantly slamming his/her opponent. On the merits I'm going with Obama, because the Clintons have exactly NOTHING to offer a progressive. Obama has at least a little genuine enthusiasm for taking a new path.

So I guess I will tepidly support Obama and continue to ignore the asshats on both sides.

I don't like primary infighting, and try to avoid it unless someone says something I really don't like.

Anyway, it's easy to remember we've got alot more in common with each other than we do with the Republicans.

Also, don't think of it only as "supporting Obama"-- the rumors have been around for awhile that Edwards would be chosen for any number of cabinet positions in a potential Obama administration, which is something I'm excited about. I'd love to see him be Attorney General or Secretary of Labor, I think he'd do a great job at it.

Generally just a very positive bunch. Seemed the biggest complaint people had was that tehre were too dang many positive Edwasrds posts every day. That and he kept winning all the polls here :-)

I've watched the supporters of the other two camps here and frankly - the idea of standing along side some of 'em sends chills. Is someone handing out Karl Rove awards or something. Are there people here who really think that kind of "support" for their candidate actually helps their cause?

I know there are good folks here representing both sides. I've read their posts here as well.

I want to stand proudly for the choice I make and proudly with others who feal as I do.

And with John Edwards, that is exactly what I was able to do.

Unfortunately the bad ones seem to post a lot. Please don't let the actions of a few idiots turn you away from any candidate. Make your decision based on what the candidate says and does, not what their supporters say.
