In the wake of Edwards dropping out
I'd like to re-post a thread I posted about a month ago that may make this whole song-and-dance a little clearer.

"Why Hillary is 'inevitable'."

In another thread, DUer Maxanne stated the following regarding the NH primary:

"She had the support of the NHDP hierarchy - and they began building." (Please note, this snippet is part of a response in a thread about the NH poll data.)

That one sentence is really key, isn't it? It's what I've been saying all along, that Hillary has The Machine behind her. That Machine includes the super delegates (of which Hillary has more than all the other candidates combined) AND the very real, tangible support of the state Democratic Party apparatus -- just to name two. It renders these primaries and caucuses nothing more than a dog-and-pony show. The reason Hillary is "inevitable" is not because that's what the voters want but because this system is nothing more than the old back-room, deal-making apparatus it's always been. They've just given us the illusion of choice and these primaries and caucuses give us something shiny to watch while the same old wheeling and dealing has been going on all along.

Just my opinion, of course.

1. IMO, we just lost our only hope of winning in Nov.
Oh, Canada.

2. And this is why good people don't follow politics and perhaps they don't vote.
Clinton - Republican-lite in continuum. That is what the higher ups are all about. Love that center-right and killing is OK.

3. I agree, this race was decided before it ever began. We have
lived with two illegitimate pres. elections, so who can be surprised by this realization?
Our democracy is an illusion, once you realize that you understand everything. When crime can blatantly be executed from the highest offices of the land, you know you are witnessing the fall of the empire.
