1. I think Nader will do well (by his standards) if Hillary is the nominee
but we will have to wait and see. Voters sure abandoned him in 2004.

21. I hope that learning from 2000 was the reason in 2004
Even as a Kerry supporter, I think it was. Kerry did have amazing credentials, such as BCCI, his effort to prevent more media consolidation, and his campaign financing bill with Wellstone, as being against undue corporate interests - but few, even now see him that way. He was way less susceptible to that charge than Gore 2000 was - though it was completely wrong in both cases.

I think Obama can make the case with that fringe better than HRC - but even as an Obama supporter - I would hope that the left sees Nader for the jerk he was and is.

44. I think Nader may be in for a surprise. He may pull more from Repubs
this time around. And I really wish there would be an immediate repudiation of his tactics now.

2. We should have been expecting this. He came out and announced it months ago.. that he was
favorable toward Edwards but if, at any point, it looked like another candidate would get the nomination, he would run.

I am not surprised and won't be surprised to see Bloomberg get in as well. So much for Hillary uniting the party.

42. Yeah, you always hear this odd 'having it both ways' sort of thing:
"The left is inconsequential! If you don't like the party, don't let the door hit you in the ass! We don't need you and your pinko-leftist shit!" - but - "Nader got the leftists to vote for him so that's why we lost! People stabbed the party in the back by voting for another party! It's the left's fault that we lost!"

You moderate-rightists can't have it both ways. Either the left doesn't matter and you don't need us or you do need us and so should do something to get our votes. One way or the other...

40. If it is vote for a basher or not vote at all...
It would be better to vote. The Congressional candidates will need votes in Nov. As it now stands, I don't even see Obama as a Democrat, he's a gay baiting conservative religionist. So if it is just Obama, at least Nader would get me to open my ballot and cast one for my rep and Senator. I'm not even sure I am really wanted in this Party anymore, after the support for McClurkin/Dobson style minority baiting. So my votes are not promised any more, not after all of the baiting.
Obama and Clinton have not only lost my vote for them, they may lose it for the rest of the Democrats I support as well. It has to be a two way street, I don't vote for a brand I vote for principles, and those principles oddly do not include attacks upon my family, or anyone else's family.
As of today, from my view, there is no Democratic Party to cast a vote for or against. Just the Republicans and those who love them. If I wind up going Green, thank Donnie McClurkin, Republican, and his employer, Barack Obama, dino, and don't even think about blaming me for refusing to stand for bigoted wedge attacks on my very person and family. Party loyalty does not extend to betraying my self and my own to boost Barack.
If he cleans this mess of his up, I will reconsider, but half measures will not do. Overt and blatant pandering to bigots is not acceptable to me, and I will leave this Party over such tactics. Just to be clear, I have voted 100% Democratic since my first election, for Jimmy Carter. The baiting is looking like the final straw for me. Call me Independent!

What happened in 2000 was a fluke. He ran in 2004 and got no traction at all (remember that silly video he made because he was excluded from the debates?) and I think 2008 will be similar.
