I love Kucinich, John Edwards and Elizabeth, but Barack is what we need. And John Edwards as Attorney General will make this country great again, and take America back for the people who built it.

Volunteered and donated to him in 2004, donated again this time around. Gives me a few days to overcome the loss, and I will be joining the OBAMAnation, or however that's said....

He's the only viable candidate to be against the Iraq war since before it even started.

I am now. I was an Edwards supporter, but I realized after South Carolina that Obama will almost certainly get the nomination, and I am fine with that. I will be even more fine with it if Edwards plays a big role in the Obama cabinet.

I did promise to change my avatar to Obama after Edwards dropped out. It's too soon for me though. I prefer him over HRC for many reasons but that doesn't make him "MY" candidate at this point in time. I'm afraid I'll need some time before I actually change my avatar. At least my ears will be more open to things his supporters are saying, though. (Ditto for Hillary's supporters, but I'm not sure they can overcome my objections. They haven't so far.)

And I'm glad to say I'm for Obama rather than against a Clinton.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for nothing.

I only donated to Edwards this cycle, but Obama's our best chance at the White House now. He is an impressive and inspiring leader, and I have always liked him.

was running for Senate. I told my daughter then, that he reminded me of my early teenage days when I worked for the election of Jack Kennedy. I saw in Obama the same indescribable qualities that Jack and Bobby had. Anyone that has the opportunity to be even in the same room ( or in my case at that time, in an open farm yard) will feel it. I have watched him since-- never doubting my first impressions were correct.
The torch has indeed passed to the next generation, and it takes the form of Barack Obama.

I've had his sign in my window for a long time though.

Call me crazy but I've been supporting multiple candidates this round. Too many good ones to jump on just one wagon. When they crossed paths I jumped tracks and rode with another band for a while. Now I'm here playing Obama's tune.

This is the first time I've had the chance to cast a vote that may influence the selection of our nominee, and I will be doing so for the junior Senator from Illinois.

I like to fancy myself a pragmatist, and I've been swayed by the package represented by Obama's candidacy: he commands a certain amount of press coverage, his fundraising machine is considerable, his career outside of politics is respectable and does not reflect personal greed, he's acceptable on many of my important issues (the war in Iraq, civil rights, fiscal responsibility), and exit polls for the primaries to date show that the effect he has on young people and unaffiliated independents is moving from intangible to tangible.

Further, unlike the junior Senator from New York, public opinions of him are not so concretized that he has to worry about hewing to or varying from them as the need arises, which can be tactically valuable in a campaign. Either of the remaining candidates would make for a welcome and refreshing change from the current occupant, but I'm of the opinion that Sen. Clinton has reached her ceiling of demographic support, while Sen. Obama has not. I may well be wrong, but that's how I see it.

He has the best chance of winning, but he really represents sort of a young version of the DLC, with his outreach to Republicans and Christian conservatives, his praise for Reagan and the Republican Party as the party of ideas, his corporate friendly health care plan, etc. But, at least he'll break the 230 yrs. of white rule, has a pretty liberal voting record, and knows how to run a smart campaign. I've been barely for him for months, but I wouldn't be too upset if Clinton wins.

Since Edwards dropped out, there are only two choices left for me. I vote next Tuesday. I'm casting a vote for Obama but only because I'd rather have him than Hillary. I think he's probably more electable and sadly, that's what it's come to for me. I'm voting anti-Republican rather than for anyone.
