I voted for John Edwards today.
We had an early voting day in Baldwin County Alabama because next (Super) Tuesday is Mardi Gras.

That's a BIG deal in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
We're the ones on each side of Mobile Bay.
Mobile is west (lefty) and we're east (righty).
The rest of the state doesn't much give a shit about Mardi Gras, but, boy WE DO!

So the state gave us permission to hold one (1) early voting day.

I already knew that he was dropping out before I voted.
But I also knew that he would take some delegates to the convention.
Bargaining chips.
And maybe he gets the #2 spot on the ticket again.
With someone who doesn't wimp out on him this time.

The air seems to be too poisonous between Hil and Obama for either to be the other's running mate.
John looks like the logical choice to me.

Besides, he's my cousin.
Well, he could be.
I've traced our family back to a Jonathan Edwards in 1735 Carolina.
Go cuz!
;-)

11. That is why he suspended and didn't drop
He holds his delegates until he is ready to release them.

It also allows him to collect the matching funds and continue to pay his staff until they find other work or finish out their duties.

16. YAEL GO TO JOHN EDWARDS BLOG - SOMEONE BORROWED MY HEADER & POST
AND IT IS FIRST ON EDWARDS BLOG TODAY, ABOUT CONTINUING TO VOTE FOR JOHN EDWARDS

ON FEB 5 TO GARNER MORE DELEGATES FOR HIM AND GIVE HIM THE POWER TO EXTRACT

COMMITTMENTS FROM THE CANDIDATES !!

I TAKE THE FACT THAT HIS ORGANIZATION PUT THAT POST UP AS A POSITIVE SANCTIONING

OF WHAT WE EDWARDIANS ARE TRYING TO DO !!!

YAY JOHN

HE'S NOT OUT. JUST SUSPENDED.

hERE'S THE POST:

"VOTE FOR JOHN E ON FEB 5 - GIVE HIM THE POWER

John Edwards has framed the issues all along - Single Payer healthcare, not

Universal, lobbyists out of the elections, America taking care of and giving a

chance for affordable college, taking care of our Vets, bringing home our

people from Iraq within a year without permanent bases in Iraq, restoring

America and every issue until Obama and Clinton "borrowed" his populist stance.

But "borrowing" words is not a commitment to carry them out whichever

one gets the nomination for the general election.

That is why we must must must continue to vote for John Edwards on Feb 5

The more delegates he collects even though he has "suspended" his campaign (I

suspect because of the MSM essentially boycotting coverage of him and the

failure of the feds to match funds until March) the more power John will have to

extract a written committment from either or both candidates to adhere to John's

and our populist issues ."
eom

This is how the corporate media and corporate control over this country picked your candidates for you

7. Hi, trof.
I almost went to NOLA to see John today, but, alas, I have a stomach virus.

I'm teetering on casting my primary vote for Edwards, too. I'm looking at the other candidates. Don't really know what I'll do yet.

15. I've not been around much.
I've been back more the past week than I had been through the past several months.

I think that I'm going to go ahead and vote Edwards in Mississippi's primary. I sure am leading toward Clinton...need to do a lot more reading though.

9. I'll probably vote Edwards, too, simply because I see no real distinction between Obama and Hillary.
There may be a couple of differences, but I prefer Hillary on half of those differences (health care, fighting against anti-consumer tort legislation, etc.) and prefer Obama on the other half of those issues (Kyl-Lieberman, tax cuts for the wealthy, etc.).

It's a complete wash between Obama and Hillary.
