Poll question: How likely is a third party run by the loser?
It just struck me that, with all this division, it would almost make sense.

1. Obama. His ego may lead him to do it.

2. He might manage to split off votes from both parties
but I dread what he would say in order to do that.

5. He'll take the lead from his buddy joe.
He seems crazy enough to try it.

3. Despite the issues between the candidates themselves...
both seem committed to the Democratic party. Neither would run as an independent, and either would end their political career by doing so.

6. That's generally what I think, but who knows?
They are both pulling some pretty crazy shit right now. Losing the GE will be a career-ender for either one.

8. I don't know about Hillary, but the DLC types will jump on the Bloomberg bandwagon
if she doesn't win the nomination.

9. You think he's in this thing for sure?
I'm not sure exactly what his shtick is, but with either surviving D vs. McCain he might make huge gains against either party.

12. While Bloomberg reminds me of that Danish prince that couldn't make his mind up
I don't think he even knows what his angle is, or where is he going to get votes if he ever stops playing Hamlet.

11. Hillary will definitely run third party...
... the second those monkeys fly out of my ass. Obama's a tougher call. For him I think the monkeys would have to be singing.

14. About as likely as it was in 2004. Or 2000. Or 1996. Or 1992.

15. Let's see: needs millions of dollars, endless time to campaign
and without the backing of an established national party- theoretically, this phantom candidate will somehow decide they can go it alone? When did pigs last fly?

16. Peeling off some votes to save an ego?
Stranger things have happened, but I agree it's highly unlikely.
