things take time to change. The people can't elect a truly liberal candidate when the people don't have the power to do so. First what must change is freedom of information. The situation with this election is already much better than say, 8 years ago. Many more people are online, watching debates on youtube, comparing websites, and much less people are depending on MSM for their opinions. I believe with time the American people will have more control over government just from having more information.

You think either one will get rid of the for profit health care system. C'mon we're still gonna have troops in iraq for the next 4 years. C'mon either of these two will put a band aid on nafta, not impose tariffs and say its fixed. Trust me our choice is not a choice at all. next election things will be worse and the republicans will be sayng "change, change, change"

And Obama's got a fine progressive record. Beter than the other candidate's.

Instead of talking about working for compromise.

A necessary element of a progressive agenda today is the top priority of taking down corporate power. Without it, just about all other issues are compromised.

Especially when this candidate takes as much or more than anyone else except Hillary from corporate donors.

Interesting, considering that in terms of percentage, Obama's corporate campaigns were near identical to Edwards' corporate campaigns. In fact, Obama's smashed all the records for small private donations. The man's a populist.

He appeals to the ordinary citizen that who his goals for the nation, be they Republican, Democrats or Independent. And armed with this majority he will be able to gain the (forced) support from Republicans in Washington. That has been his whole philosophy. Change coming from the bottom.

You use transparency at every level of government and use public pressure to shame opponents to vote for what their constituencies want. (see reference to independents and republicans OUTSIDE of Washington)

who sees nothing wrong in giving money to bush to fund an illegal war based on lies and whose main purpose is to siphen it to corporate interests, backers in the middle east, to fund their own private army. what a fine progressive candidate indeed. Although I must admit I like him over hillary.

the sign are here. little barriers in civil liberties and trust are being broken left and right. We now vote for two candidates who speak against war but vote to continue. Two candidates who have seen the devastation that NAFTA and so called free trade has wrote, the loss of our business infrastructure. Yet they want to put a band aid on it. The will keep for profit health care but promise to make the plans more affordable. These people are selling us kool aid. we have to vote and these are supposed to be progressives? are you kidding me? their policies will not fix america, america will get worse, republicans will win in 2012 because we voted for a dem to fix them. These policies will not do it. The candidates are bought and paid for, doesn't matter which one got the most from people, they are still bought for by corporate interests. Take an outside look at them and their policies without trying to sell one of the candidates to yourself. YOu will find that they in fact offer nothing of change but more of the same.

One of these two people will be president. I can vote for a 3rd party candidate all i want but because of mob mentality and our voting system (should be run off balloting for proper voting) we will never have a 3rd party win.

So no hope for either candidate who will win (or if neither a repub which is the same only worse) and no hope for a 3rd party unless a miracle happens I am gonna have my passport updated and paperwork in with the canadian embassy.
