GOBAMA!!

Rasmussen: Post-Kennedy Endorsement, Obama Only Down By Six In Massachusetts
By Eric Kleefeld - January 30, 2008, 9:42PM
A new Rasmussen poll in Massachusetts shows that Hillary Clinton is now barely ahead of Barack Obama, in the wake of the Ted Kennedy endorsement. Hillary leads with 43%, followed by Obama at 37% and the now-departed John Edwards with 11%.

Rasmussen did not have a previous poll of the Massachusetts primary, but a SurveyUSA poll from last week, before Obama's political adoption by the Kennedy family, had her ahead by a whopping 37 points. It looks like Massachusetts is officially a race now.

3. Amazing. This shows Kennedy has far more clout than Kerry does
Which is surprising since it is Kerry who headed the ticket just four years ago.

I am surprised Kerry had no effect while Ted may singlehandedly deliver the state to Obama.

71. He and Caroline together probably do, but there was
no Massachusetts poll after Kerry's endorsement. What Kerry also brings is his list which can and has given Obama more money and more volunteers, not to mention, Kerry has taken on the role of a very strong surrogate - needed especially because HRC has the former President. Kennedy is there too - and between them they can say things that Obama himself can't say.

Consider that Kerry openly speaking of past vs future was picked up by the media and that frame is far more common. How many people were saying "transformational" before Kerry did, versus afterwards. Pundits may not credit Kerry - but he did get themes out that the Obama campaign wanted out - he is also very on message in the various comments he has made for Obama.

not the way it works cowboy
if he loses by 5, he gets almost half the delegates and she gets slightly more than half, unless his support is more geographically broad than hers is, in which case he may pull another NV.

57. Yeah, I have lived there for 47 years. I think I know.
I personally have voted for Senator Kennedy (and Kerry) every time they have run for the senate. But believe it, people in Massachusetts do not all like or respect the Kennedys, and many would not necessarily support or follow his endorsement.

Endorsements and such take several days to settle in. Sometimes a week. Check the polls in a few days.

68. This is great. We have a real race here...and in many other states
While I would still say that Hillary is the clear front runner, even if she takes most of the Super Tuesday states, a close second in the biggest states can keep Obama going since the delegates will be split.

And considering Kennedy's popularity in his home state, it should be no surprise he (and his niece for that matter) hold SOME influence....
