Is the Hillary camp beginning to sweat?
While the biggest Obama supporter has to agree that the odds are stacked against him to win the nomination, and Hillary should be the favorite, Hillary, her camp and her supporters have to be worried about the ever-tightening gap in several key Clinton strongholds like Mass, CT and NY. These were states just a few weeks ago were going overwhelming to Hillary. It seems that the Kennedy and Kerry endorsements are having an effect. In addition, Hillary isn't gaining momentum, she is losing it, which isn't a good sign at this point in her campaign. She isn't even maintaing her momentum, she's losing it. Let's not forget about California, which Hillary should win, but just a week ago looked like a decisive Clinton victory and today looks like it could be a close race on Tuesday.

Don't get me wrong, she is still the favorite to win the nomination, but even the biggest Clinton fan has to admit that this race is too close for comfort and Obama is a formidable running mate that could quite possibly win the majority of the delegates on Super Tuesday, a scenario that looked unfathomable just a week ago.

Has anything been predictable in these primaries?

But how nice of an Obama supporter to notice and feel concern for our armpits.

11. I'm not an Obama supporter nor am I a Hillary supporter
I'm neutral... for now. But the once cocky confidence of Hillary supporters who thought that Obama could never bridge the gap on Super Tuesday is slowly going away.

6. I think that the best person will win, I'm not in any of the Feb. 5th
states, but I'll vote my choice when my primary does come up, and in November I'll vote democrat no matter what, and thanks to the idiotic Republicans I look forward to having a democratic president next January. So, to answer your question, no I'm not sweating, I'm pretty happy.

8. Rezco deals will undermine OBAMAS CHANGE MESSAGE
He profited personally as well as politically from deals with a corrupt political fixer. The Rezco scandal will either crush him now or later. I hope for our sake it is now because once this trial gets going...Obamas change mantra will be HIM CHANGING his story about corrupt deals HE MADE.

Democrats best wake up or we lose to Republicans in the general.

21. I saw OBAMA lie already!
First he said he did not even know Rezco was involved in real estate deal...When cornered he fessed up to having "recalled" it.

If it is such a red Herring why is his CHANGE theme basically him changing his story on this?

Even in the debate he tried to say his involvement with Rezco was only 5 hours of LAW WORK..It IS APPARENT HE IS LYING.

Repubs will crush his "change message" He is no different.
The only thing changing is his story. Obama will be unelectable on NOV 25th..Thats when Rezcos trial starts by the way!

SC polls were pretty indicative, Fla, Mich same trend.

But that's okay. I understand you're frustration.

But people foolishly jumping up and down and over spikes in polls always amuse me.

Especially when people don't wait for some corroboration to make an average that validate those spikes.

15. Well her campaign has straightened itself out over the last few days
and it looks like Bill isn't making anymore stupid comments. He's campaigning for her and not against Obama, like he was earlier...and he was doing it in a nasty spiteful manner.

She still has NY...but depending on how Super Tuesday goes, she'll fight very hard to get MI and FL to count...

This could get very interesting...and I'll admit, I've never been more wrong about elections before. Just a few weeks ago it looked like the Republicans would fight all the way to the convention...and then face a brokered convention...but McCain is consolidating his wins and conservatives may have just decided to settle with him....

It may be on our side after all...

18. She needs to hold off Obama's momentum in these key states
like New York, Mass and Connecticut. Especially New York and Massachusetts, where plenty of delegates are at stake. That is Hillary's backyard. If Obama gets within 10 of Hillary in New York, then that means trouble for her camp. In Massachusetts, same thing. She had a 30 point lead just a week ago.

all the free press The Handshake Saga has given her, and I'm betting she really isn't too unhappy right now.

But your concern is noted.

19. Good post - Clinton is still the odds on favorite but...
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 11:22 PM by featherman
things may be happening out here in DEM land. Let's hope.

CA and NY are Clinton for sure. Obama needs to be close enough to get the highest delegate split possible.

IL is Obama's of course and may offset the above to a degree.

Things are looking better in MA and CT from the polls and movement I've seen.

Clinton likely takes NJ

Obama looks good in CO, GA, AL... maybe MS ID and KA

About the rest I haven't a clue... that's only 12 so I guess there are seven (?) more

23. The odds are really stacked against Hillary.
All the Dem big wigs seem to be endorsing her, and many top Dem women. The media is clearly trashing her and giving Obama a pass on almost everything.

In tomorrow's debate, Hillary will be in a "no win" situation. If she strongly supports her ideas and presents differences in her positions from Obama or criticizes his positions, she will be accused of being "divisive" attacking, nasty, polarizing. If she doesn't come out strongly, she will be said to be "phony" "pandering" and "non-Presidential." If she comes down hard on the Bush administration, she will be accused of being Republican-lite, unable to bring the country together, a polarizing candidate who can't work with all opposite. If she makes mincemeat out of Obama as we know she can, she will be accused of playing the race card or being disrespectful to a black male candidate. The media will once again tell everyone what to think about Hillary Clinton.

NOT BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN!

calling Hillary names is not bashing her????????????? Most people that don't like her call her names and are not willing to talk about the issues! And if any one says one damn thing that is not painting Obama in a pretty picture they are called a racist, even when we are part black our self's just like Obama. Oh and by the way Obama is just as much a "Republican lite". The man has voted more in line with Bush then Hillary.
