Poll question: So, how much uglier could the infighting in GD: P possibly get?
Have we seen the worst of it, or is the best yet to come?
What do you think?

15. It was so bad in 2004 that Skinner had to implement a "4 warnings and you're banned" policy.
If you broke the rules in any way, you got a warning. If you got four (or maybe it was five), then you got banned.

It worked to tone down the rhetoric, but it made the mods' jobs all but impossible to do.

Many really good DUers were banned in 2004 because of that policy.

18. Damn. That is pretty bad.
Hope it doesn't get so bad here, I think I wouldn't last long! :hi:

22. I had one warning left...
...people who supported the candidate that was not MY candidate were digging through the archives trying to find anything they could alert on. Skinner reversed a couple of the warnings I got, because they were from archived posts that were made before the 4-warning rule was implemented. I got off on a technicality.

After it was over, it was funny to me. Some of the people who hated me then are friends to me today--except for maybe one or two people who still hold old grudges.

But we loathed each other when the Clark factions and Dean factions faced off in 04. :)

2. I think it might start going the other way
Since we won't have the Clinton and Obama people going after us Edwards folks any longer they'll just have eachother to kill.

4. Yeah, but now they can focus on each other with increased viciousness.
Perhaps that will cause more attacks?

5. I think it's gotten better actually but that may be because of
the "ignore" and "hide thread" functions judiciously applied. LOL

7. I haven't put anyone on ignore yet. I'm trying hard not to.
It may come to me eventually doing it for a couple of particularly disgusting hate-spewers, but they also amuse me, so i can't say for sure yet :P

24. I've found that an exceedingly liberal application of the "ignore" function works wonders.

I must have at least 150 of the worst offenders on "ignore" by now.

Hudson: Let's just bug out and call it even, OK? What are we talking about this for?
Ripley: I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Hudson: Fuckin' A...

16. it depends, there's three possible scenarios
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 12:22 AM by Magic Rat
one, Hillary wins big on Super Tuesday and cruises to the nomination.
two, Obama wins small on Super Tuesday and cruises to the nomination.
three, Hillary wins small on Super Tuesday and we go all the way to the convention with the both of them splitting delegates equally and it forces a brokered convention, if the superdelegates don't step in and swing the nomination to one candidate or the other, in which case Hillary is the most likely winner.

In that last scenario, all hell will break loose and Obama supporters will not support Clinton in the GE. I have no doubt about that. A lot will stay home and refuse to vote for her.

17. I hope that's not the case, then.
The last thing we need to do is to split the dem party at the convention.
It'd practically guarantee a republican victory.

12. It is interesting for those of us who
don't give a flying fuck any longer.

In another day or two when the Edwards support posts go by the wayside, I am putting the entire forum on iggy and heading toward the lounge.

Have fun!
