So much for making every vote count.
I think the Democratic Party is very hypocritical on its stance to make over vote count. Don't misunderstand me. I still have a big blue D on my forehead.
I just don't understand how John Kerry can be raked over the coals because he did not fight harder for Ohio, even though he was 120,000 votes down on election night and there was not way he could make that up, when the DNC can decide that whole states have no say in nominating their candidate. This makes no sense to me.

1. not hard to understand
neither the voters nor the party leaders in Ohio made a decision to have their votes not count.
The democratic voters of Fl and Mi may not have made that decision either, but their elected representatives *did.

After being told by the DNC that they couldn't move their primary date up, they did it anyways.
After being told by the DNC that they would lose delegates if they kept that date, they kept it.
Both FL and Mi gambled, and lost.
(If I were from Mi I'd be particularly ticked at the party because they saw what was already happening with Fl)

If you think they should get their delegates back, then you should have no problem next election cycle when Oregon moves its primary to Jan 8
... and then Utah moves theirs to Dec 18
... and then Ca move theirs to Dec 3
... and then NH moves theirs to Thanksgiving
... etc. etc. etc.

Hell, why not just line up the candidates for 2012 now so we can vote on them next week?

2. Yep, that pretty much sums it up.
I don't necessarily agree with the primary system, but they have to stick to the rules, which were in place long before FL and MI decided to change their primary dates.
