How many think John McCain will be the Republican nominee?
I do not. I think SC and FL were not indicative of his support elsewhere. I look for Mitt Romney to overtake him this Tuesday. Also, I believe he will be competing with Huckabee for second place. I cannot see the Republican Party putting John McCain up as their nominee.

1. I think the GOP powers will have him knocked off before that happens. nt

2. It's over ...
Bushco is behind Mitt, and that counts for something, but the rest of the party hates him even more than it hates McCain ...

Going by the polls, McCain is going to put him down next Tuesday ... Already some word that Romney is starting to think about how much of his money he is spending ...

3. I do. Florida picked the nominees this year - Rudy got that one right.
With Rudy's endorsement, he'll do well in the Northwest - I think Fla was Mitt's last chance. And frankly, it doesn't matter. They are all batshit crazy, any of them will be made to look as good as possible - remember who they already pushed in the White House now.(he still had to steal 2 elections - but MSM got him some votes to hang his hat on)

4. It'll absolutely be McCain.
On super Tuesday, he'll pull in way more delegates in generally moderate California, and he'll win in winner-take-all New York. After that, it's all over but the crying.

5. The GOP base
may not care much for McCain, but I don't see them particularly enthusiatic about Romney. Huckabee has been calling Romney on his disingenuous flip-flops and has landed some punches. The powers that be aren't flocking to Romney. HIs money seems to be coming more from himself and the Mormons than party big wigs.

I think it will be McCain because that's all they've got left.

6. i think we need to be more worried about the repug VP

considering McCain will probably either drop dead or his cancer will come back again in office.

7. Chuck Todd did some simple math the other day
He said that McCain is probably going to get 550 delegates on Tuesday in just a few states. That will be half of what he needs to wrap this thing up. McCain looks like the favorite to me.

8. It's going to be McCain
given how much the talk-radio crowd loathes him I thought Romney had a chance but according to TPM Romney isn't spending money on ads for super Tuesday.

9. probably, but McCain's performance last night debate didn't help him
Also likely that Huck and Romney will still win several states on Super Tuesday.
