My Self-Interest Says: Vote Hillary; My LGBT Altruism Says: Oppose Her
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 03:11 PM by CorpGovActivist
As both a published and unpublished, credited and uncredited writer, my personal self-interest - defined narrowly as the size of my bank account - says, Vote Hillary.

Political and topical theater in DC makes a mint. For all the talk on here about the "http://www.google.com/search?q=georgetown+cocktail+party+site:democraticunderground.com&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&as_qdr=all&filter=0">Georgetown Cocktail Party Circuit," you'd think a few more people would've caught on by now that the real action these days is in the http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&as_qdr=all&q=dupont+circle+gay">"Dupont Circle Drawing Rooms".

There, extremely talented men and women within the vibrant LGBT community dream up some of the best, most altruistic, and progressive schemes - and put them into effective action, all literally within a few blocks of the White House.

These works sometimes venture into the arts, and http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&as_qdr=all&q=theater+district+washington">the Theatre District in DC is conveniently located, both for the producers of the plays, as well as for those who are their targets.

Musical theater is especially well-received in this town if it's biting and funny. A few of us already have The Sound of Money halfway written and scored.

It was like falling off a log.

Yup, Hillary will be very good for the ol' bank account for many writers, and right about now, some striking ones are beginning to figure out that this town is big enough for them while they remain true to their strike. Solidarity, baby.

P.S. Thankfully, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&as_qdr=all&q=altruism+gay+edward+wilson+harvard">many are exemplars of Professor E.O. Wilson's theories on altruism in the LGBT community and its benefits to larger society, and think "bigger picture" than just their bank accounts. His course on Evolutionary Biology rocked my world freshman year of college.

1. I Feel Like a Frosted Mini-Wheat...
... upon reflection. But I'm a grown-up (read: I supported Edwards). So, I guess I'll skip the sugary frosting of her fairy tale, and go to the whole wheat that will help make the country regular again.
