2. Black voters make up a larger percentage...
In GA than in TN. Significantly larger.

5. Yet the TN poll shows Obama only up 2 percent in the black vote
which doesnt really make much sense to me.

10. Oh and my mom
lives in Memphis. She is African American. She is unsure about Barack. She is crazy about Bill Clinton. Lately, I have noticed her saying positive things about Barack but I still don't know how she will vote. My FIL (also African American) said over the summer he was going to go with Hillary because of Bill. Also, he did not think a black man had a shot. Recently, he changed his mind and said he will be supporting Barack. I think because Barack has not been to Memphis the people don't know much about him. Many watch the local news but not really the national news so they are probably not hearing much about him. I don't know. I would not put too much money in TN if I was in Barack's shoes.

26. Maybe they're voting on the issues, not because of race. nt

4. I don't know
why is he only leading in Southern states (and tied in Connecticut) but trailing in the North and West? maybe people in the South like him more?

16. I thought the vast majority of his support was young, white voters.
Look at his rallies.

Doesn't matter, though. I'm voting for the white male in the race.

Gravel ROCKS!

8. I have heard that
Harold Ford Jr is friends with Barack. If he is supporting Barack I think he could really help to at least get out the black vote in Barack's favor in Memphis. However, I have not heard anything about that. I don't think Barack plans to go to Memphis. He should have showed up in Nashville and Memphis like Hillary did to at least get some votes. He should not even waste his time in eastern TN. There is no way they will vote for an African American for president in that part of TN. He has the best shot in Memphis. It is a large city with a lot of African Americans. For some reason he is not even campaigning there. Perhaps he thinks it is a long shot and he wants to firm up support in states where he has a better chance. There has to be a reason he has not planned a stop there...

14. So that explains it...
Harold Ford Jr probably decided to stay out of it since he is friends with both of them. I know my mom mentioned that Hillary was in Memphis but she did not mention anything about Harold Ford Jr so I'm assuming he was not there with Hillary.

Just, the poll with the 33% margin is bogus.

15. For reasoning in TN, see Harold Ford for example.

Another talented speaker. African American.

Loses to the southern white guy.

Ford may be a DLCer and Obama isn't.

But still.

20. Keep in mind
There are basically two centers of African American population in TN, the Nashville metro area in Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee near the Mississippi River (including Memphis). I would be willing to bet the proximity to Arkansas allows Clinton to very well in African American communities in West Tennessee. If there is a poll out for Arkansas, I would be willing to bet its internals line up with the Tennessee poll. Obama probably performs somewhat better in the Nashville area, which for the most part could care less about Arkansas.

21. No faith in the TN results - shows Clinton leading 18-25 group
by 80-17, her largest margin.
No sure what polling methods were used for this one but that is an unexplainable anomoly
