Is Hillary's "cake already baked"??
I was listening to a call-in show on NPR yesterday and that was one of the comments made by somebody. Basically they were saying there is nothing new we can learn about her that the country hasn't already learned since 1992.

I'm not convinced that's necessarily a bad thing or even if I agree with it. She brings experience to the table in a way that Obama doesn't.

BUT... Obama represents fresh new energy and has invigorated the masses, particularly our youth (under 30) with his charisma and oratory skills in a way not seen for a long time.

The big question: Which one will be the stronger candidate against McCain??

This Edwards supporter doesn't know who the hell to vote for now. :( I'm so sad, confused and disheartened he dropped out.

1. Obama is a much better matchup.
What is Clinton's main theme? Strength and experience. Good luck on using that against the war hero who's been in the Senate since 1986.

What is McCain's big strength? He's perceived as honest, bipartisan, and as a reformer. Clinton, um, isn't.

Obama's strength: Fresh face, vision of change. McCain is old as dirt.

5. Very well put
I agree completely. Grandpa McCain is old news; Obama is a better alternative if we want to stress we are the party of the future.

6. Yeah, not to sound ageist, but you're right, McCain IS old
I hadn't realized the man is actually 71 (?!?) til I read this week's cover story on him. Plus, he just doesn't LOOK well to me. He doesn't strike me as a man who is healthy and in his prime.

I read somewhere today that a lot of people in Obama's camp want to attract the Edwards voters who are considered "ABC" voters...Anyone But Clinton. :D

heh.

I think "old crazy, and warmonger" fits the bill better for ol' Grandpa Less Jobs, More Wars.

10. I'm with ya, but a lot of Independents like him cuz he's a maverick
even my mom, who is an Independent, is voting for him.....much to my dismay. :eyes: She also likes that he is pro-life, which is a BIG deal for her staunch Catholicism. Whatever.

30. Well, we have twn months to work on that
The country is sick of this war, and McCain promises to stay in Iraq for a thousand years. I refuse to believe that his "maverick" status is going to trump that. Or the fact that he's spent the last seven years with his head firmly lodges in GWB's posterior.

14. Maybe if Obama had been around longer, there would be more negatives against him
in other words, her being around longer has worked against her, in this case, b/c she's had the time to acquire lots and lots of people who really seem to hate her. It's weird.

Whereas, his "new-ness" makes him more interesting.

It is absolutely not the same as becoming a Moonie.

This is the really bad one:

I am an ardent feminist and that disgusted me. And it surely indicates someone who is just a little too zealous in support of her candidate.

being First Lady and all that...

Plus there IS the age difference between them, which certainly counts for something...in terms of basic life experience and wisdom gained.

rather than someone predictable. Some years they are cautious as in 04 when they stuck with Bush.

Some years they are ready to try someone new. This may be that year. If so Clinton and McCain will not do well.

15. PLEASE CONSIDER HILLARY AND WHY.
She has a Platform vs Obama's platitudes. She has solutions versus Obama's airy words of "hope". She has a 35 yr preparation for daring to run for the Presidency, he has a drop. She fearlessly fights even lost causes that are right (Universal Health Care during Bill's time); Obama avoids votes on sticky subjects for political packaging (not only IL present votes but avoided the Iran vote recently and mroe); He is playing the Race and Victim card; She hasn't even touched the Gender card; the Corp Media and Right-Wingers like Novak are all pushing Obama and raises question "why"? They are trashing Hillary and Bill with utter Obama Camp spins; Hillary has been vetted and held accountable; Obama on words of "hope" is being allowed to coast with no accountability or specifics...51% of U.S. are women and we finally have a candidate we can vote for not simply because she's a women..but finally, finally someone who truly is a national figure and absolutely (like with all higher jobs in America) better than the guys by lots to even be considered let alone get the job. It's TIME...TIME that the 51% (WOMEN) gets represented versus a non-vetted half-term senator who is after all a WHITE MAN (if he can be called black, he can be called white being 1/2 and 1/2 !! ) who represents (by 1/2 blood only) a group that is only 8%. Black MEN got suffrage BEFORE ALL WOMEN...It's TIME...TIME that a Highly Qualified WOMAN gets the Presidency before a very little vetted and qualified MAN gets it again. And..so much more...such little time as to why most definitely Senator Hillary Clinton is my household's candidate.

25. McCain's everwhelming strength is his experience.
His weakness is his age. Think it through, we can run experience vs experience, or change vs experience. The American people will vote for experience when scared, change when optimistic and hopeful. Could anything happen in the run up to the election that could make people scared? Crashing economy? Middle east terror madness? Speculate about the future to make informed decision.
