Tweety: John Edwards should be Secretary of Labor
Interesting and I've never thought about it before. I always thought AG, but interesting idea by Tweety.

1. That wouldn't be a bad fit, actually.
Astounding -- a good idea out of Matthews.

2. I proposed that on one of the DU polls
several days ago.

There are others with a passion to do AG.
But Edwards has a passion for labor which suggest Dept of Labor would be a great fit for him

11. Secretary of Labor has no power... CLINTON and Reagan eviscerated the position
Which never had power to begin with thanks to Taft Hartley. The Labor
Department exists to "manage" labor conflict and preserve labor peace,
actually. I.e. illegalize wildcat strikes and "regulate" the right to
organize which should be unrestricted. So it's a bad fit for those who
believe in the unrestricted right to organize and the right to strike.
Hell, our whole economy is based on the right of employers to fire people
at will for not showing up to work one day.

3. No no no, he would be the best AG ever
Secretary of Labor doesn't have the power to prosecute. Edwards will go after corporate corruption, polluters, collusions, etc.

6. Exactly
Secretary of Labor, well he would probably be the best one of those too, but he would have more impact as AG.

I'd be happy if either candidate got the nomination as long as they made Edwards AG.
