Does anyone thinks McCain is too old to be president?
He just looks really slow and really old, despites all the make up he has on, I know I am talking about appearance, but do you think there should be an age limit where you can run for office anymore?

1. Have you seen his mother?
If you did, you would believe that this is not a good question. She actually looks excellent at 95!

4. I don't care how old he is
It's his ideas that are stale and outdated. More Bush-like Big Government conservatism.

His, "I wouldnt mind if we stayed in Iraq for 1000 years," statement will come back to haunt him. So will his, "bomb, bomb, Iran," tune.

Snowball, meet hell...

14. In answer to the OP...
yes, McCain is too old to run for the presidency. He is a year younger than I. Things happen at this age. Little changes are a daily occurance.

The strain of the presidency would be too much over a 4 or 8 year term.

I know, Strom was in DC after he had already died. He was maintained in a position that he could no longer comprehend. There is a danger from such age.

His choice of VP would have to take this into consideration

Bottom line: 71 is too old to contemplate the presidency.

"my friends" that and the odd, Rudyesque giggling.

12. You must have missed the Senator Byrd flame wars. :)
Seriously, though, I don't think age alone should be a disqualification if the person is capable. But in this case, the contrast to either Obama or Hillary works greatly to our advantage.

13. Yes, McCain is too old to be president
A president needs to be in touch with the world around him, and McCain appears to already be suffering from senility. We lose our mental acuity as we age. My parents are a little older than him, and while they are bright, successful people who still have a lot on the ball, they tire easily, lose focus, and have some senior moments that are fine for parents but unacceptable for presidents.

I want a president who doesn't have to have the internet, youtube, or cell phones explained to him.

There are lots of reasons to oppose McCain, but his age isn't one of them.

him terrible problems.
We need a younger man with new ideas.

24. John McCain is now 71 years old, born August 29, 1936 so if he should become POTUS
...on inauguration he will be 72 and a half years old, that is very old if he is not in the best of health

25. YES he is too old....
I had this exact discussion with a friend, 3 days ago...No one can even run for president before they have reached the grand old age of 35..IF there are limitations because of youth...then why shouldn't there be limitations because of age on the other end of the spectrum? Anyone 70 or older is too damned old...unless all you want is a figurehead sitting in the oval office, while someone else really runs things...wb

32. Not at all!
I just think it's too big a risk to put a human being in a position of power when that human being has been treated so inhumanely. I don't think anyone can go through what he's been through and not be damaged. Not his fault, but he's damaged.
