The problem with Alexandra Robbins is that she is also a secret society member, although she claims she's disassociated with them. She is fun to listen to, but I wonder if she is trying to make Skull and Bones seem more silly, rather than to point out that it is a dangerous alliance of people with political/business/media power, who are working towards the centralization of wealth and power. She discusses more about the weird rituals, the mystique, the silliness, and other surface details. It's all very interesting, and theres some informative and creepy stuff there...but sometimes I find she too quickly dismisses the elite power network that is skull and bones.
I do believe that, like a cult, Skull and Bones has intense brainwashing and mindcontrol techniques. I believe that, like the mafia, there are some pretty serious oaths made. (Also, I must admit that I am a witch, myself, so I belive in magical arts...but I don't find it necessary to even go there when I question what the truth is behind skull and bones).
I am more concerned that the secrecy and allegiances are used as a means of centralizing wealth and power. I am worried that, because of secrecy, we can never understand the allegiances the members have. How can a president, who should have allegiance to the United States first and foremost, have some allegiance to a secret organizations that is so secret we can't know what the oath exactly is?
Don't be surprised if this is a limited hangout type of thing, or a misinformation campaign -- a way to make skull and bones seem like an indulgent conspiracy-theory, or "tinfoil hatism". And, from what I understand, Skull and Bones IS a conspiracy -- a bunch of elite people who are secretly plotting to advance their own interests at the sake of everyone elses IS a conspiracy. (Maybe its theoeretical, because its secret and we are not allowed to know about what goes on in the organization)
What is important about skull and bones is that they have members who are high in the media. So, you can expect propaganda. They are also connected closely to the C.I.A., I believe, so I'm sure that they are quite sophisticated when it comes to psy-ops.
Members of skull and bones have been involved in things such as war profiteering opium trading, oil, the military-industrial complex, and the grave robbing of Geronimo's skull, which is still at the "tomb" and has not been returned to the Native Americans. Its important to understand the ethical problems and history that this organization and its members have had. There is also the matter of exclusionism and elitism, which is based in classism, sexism, racism and a complete disregard to the principles of social justice and social equality. It's a very un-democratic organization.
These are serious matters of concern, which most of us can agree on, that can and SHOULD be addressed without worrying too much about initiation rites, death worship and mysticism.
