18. An insult is an insult.
It does not matter who gives one.

I have tried being nice and letting all of you Kerry supporters know that I will vote for him and not criticize him....I have not been criticizing him.

It worries me that some will not make an effort toward us at all.

I find it very sad.

Please give a break. You won. Kerry is the nominee. Dean is almost dead. You won. Please give us a little break.

19. It's just silly
If this guy can't even make a little joke, that is just sad. You think you're the only ones who have shit to deal with? I have to figure out how to fight off ALL those Kerry attacks Dean made. The right wingers are posting them all over the Kerry forum. You might want to "quit crying in your teacups" and come over there and help, since YOUR guy is the one who said all the shit in the first place.

20. You all told us it was "just politics." Attacks happen, live with it.
When Dean was the one being gored from all sides that is what we heard.

I don't feel the need to work with people who act arrogantly and rudely toward me. If they act that way it means they don't need or want me.

Thus, I repeat, I will vote for Kerry in November. Kerry won. He is the nominee.

If most were acting decent toward us, I would consider doing more. Right now, I am angry that people would actually believe the right wing would not have all that info.....believe me.

Don't worry, we won't be welcome on the board much longer. The DNC has made it clear that we are not welcome, and the signals are out.

That is all strange, because all the Dean supporters I know will be voting for Kerry. So why are we treated rudely still? Be rude to the ones who are rude to you guys, and let up on the rest of us.

And take time to find out the difference between us. Let wounds heal a little. You won big time.

31. I have been "over it" longer than most.
I am not "crying in my teacups" as Kerry says. What I AM not over the rudeness.

There is no excuse for the rudeness. I have said I will vote for Kerry, many times I have said that.

We are donating our time and effort to 3 candidates right now on local and state levels. It is expensive.

We are active in fighting against the Medicare bill, and we have even been written up in a small magazine for those efforts.

I am not over the rudeness, and I am not over the 2000 election. I am not over the Iraq War, and I will never be. However, I will vote for a man who voted for it because it is best for the country.

While you think I am "nursing my wounds", my husband and I, both lots older than you, are working to get our party back by supporting candidates, working with media groups, and calling congressmen.

I called 5 yesterday about the touchscreen voting. I called 5 more today. I have 3 letters to the editors published since December, and we were both mentioned in our local paper today.

The Democratic party as a whole is not very tolerant of any views anymore, and I am not going to tell you how they have treated some of us here.....you would think I was nursing my wounds.

We are part of the party, we are not going away. Being rude to those of us who are trying, is just not productive. Some people are totally unable to see that some of us are trying, while still keeping our own views intact.

I could tell you more of the things I do rather than nursing my wounds and my old school teacher bones, but it might be construed as looking for praise.

35. I appreciate your efforts
But I still don't understand why somebody can't make a joke around you and I still don't understand why you can't look at this board and see that all the anti-Kerry crap is going to make ALL your work for nothing. Finally, YOU are not the only one who is working hard and Kerry supporters are tired of being belittled when we worked just as hard for our candidate as you did. You do not have a monopoly on grassroots. You do not have a monopoly on volunteering for your candidate. We're just as fed up with your arrogance and whining as you are fed up with what you perceive to be rudeness.

37. Please show me where I have been arrogant and rude to anyone.
QUOTE:...."We're just as fed up with your arrogance and whining as you are fed up with what you perceive to be rudeness....."

Please show me where I have done this, and I will apologize profusely. Contrary to your belief, I am an American who cares about this country.

You have said that I have been arrogant and whining. They are subjective terms, but if you point to other than sincere pleas, I will apologize to you. For the sake of peace.

QUOTE:..."Kerry supporters are tired of being belittled when we worked just as hard for our candidate."

Please show me where I have done this, and I will apologize.

If you can show me my arrogance, whining, and belittling tactics, I will apologize 3 times.

43. I did not call them anything.
What am I doing that is arrogant and whiny? Tell me and I won't do it. Those are very subjective terms, but one could find examples if they wished.

I think the board needs peace, and I am trying to do my part. Our country is in danger. I think you should not have made what we are doing locally sound insignificant.

However, when I see a post which says insulting things about us or me or Dean I fully intend to respond to clarify the issue or find out why the person thinks so.

I think the party is at the crossroads now. Dean is a party man, a good man, and he will do what he can to support the nominee. However, some people at party headquarters responded very rudely to some who wanted them to allow a way for all to get their votes counted. I believe the term they were called is "idiots" who do not belong in the party. I was told about the same when I called about the cancellation of the Florida straw vote. I was told the straw vote decision was necessary to unify the party. At the time that happened, Dean was ahead here with Clark in close 2nd. They stopped the vote. I was told I should think of the party and not myself.

I am not going to back down and allow myself and my efforts for our candidates locally to be demeaned. So I say if I have done something, show me, and I will apologize.

30. For Once, Liberals Are Not Acting Like Suicidal Idiots!!!
Can liberals actually put down the purity of our singular visions and create a - gulp! - coalition? You would think if conservative Jesus freaks and deregulating mammon-lovers could get together to kick our ass, a few realtively like-minded liberals could (just once) get their act together.

The thought of it, yes, brings tears to my eyes. We are going to win this, g-ddamnit.

39. Thanx madfloridian...

I appreciate all the nice things you say and it pains me when people attack you as though you are the whole reason people hate Kerry supporters.

Personally, I think the winners ARE being nice. The people that are being mean really aren't Kerry supporters. They are just naturally mean and pretending to be a Kerry Supporter is just a convenient excuse to be mean to nice folks like you.

((((HUGz)))) to you madfloridian and to all the "real" Kerry Supporters who KNOW that being mean is not going to help get Kerry elected in Nov,

40. You "get" it, thanks.
Most of the people on this thread are being quite decent. I have accepted that Dean will not be prez this time, and I quite frankly think he can be more powerful going after the GOP without the restraints of the candidacy.

I am not going to back off when someone insults me, here, though. If someone says I am saying and doing things, they must prove it.

Thanks for the nice comments. This thread may go on a while if I continue to be accused of things.

Thank you for being sensitive to madfloridian's feelings. I'm a former Dean supporter myself and have resigned myself that Kerry is going to be the nominee and want everybody to work together to get the Chimp out of the White House.

Some people WILL be mean just for the sake of being mean and I don't think it is productive because we have a lot of work to do to get Kerry elected. I still love Dean and always will and I hope he plays an important part in making Kerry the next POTUS.

You deserve ((((Hugz)))) for being so sweet.
